ParticipantRodney,
If Brad and Jim agree to let the honda motors run on July 16th both me and Tyler would be happy to accomidate your request of letting Tristan kick everyone’s a$$. Bring $5,000 and winner takes all. Put up or shut up. Let me know cause we will be more than ready.

ParticipantHave to agree the Hondas are wonderful. We are running a sealed Honda in the mini-cups and between the 12 racers have not been able to find anything in the motor that makes us faster it seems to be all in chassis setup and driver experience. Hot-Wheels if you have any ideas please let me know. IMI rental karts are fun and so are Bandi’s. Have Fun Benoit.

ParticipantHow many entries does it take to “justify” the class?

ParticipantGreat post Scott it is 85% chassis and driver, but for whatever reason it comes back to the motor. We had our motor blueprinted by powerworks in the middle of the season last year and Tyler was still finishing in last place. It is not until the driver feels comfortable that they come alive. Yes seat time and confidence is everything! Once they are confident that is when the motor comes into play. You can have the best motor $ can buy but if your kid is lacking experience well we all know that answer.
Thanks

Why are you so against the Honda motor? Even if everyone took their comer motor to be dynoed and sealed who’s to say that they wouldn’t de-tune it before the dyno test? In my 1 year of running the comer I could de-tune it so it would pass the dyno test and then do slight modifications to gain more HP than the testing would allow! It seems that you and mr hannum are the only people against the supplied Honda program. Why don’t you just give it a chance. Even if you are running national events it is not that hard to change the gear, change the motor mount, and change the chain. If you want to run the comer so bad race it at the IMI club races.

We are only running the club races at IMI and we have decided to use the Honda motor. The question I have to ask is about the 2 CSC races at IMI If the comer motor is used and dynoed and sealed(which if that is what the CSC chooses how is everything going to be controlled?) We have gained 3 to 5 hundred rpm by just changing air filter not to mention oil fuel mixture with the comer motor. Are we going to be able to change the jets used? Please remember that the primary purpose of this class is to teach these kids good sportmanship, have fun and learning how to drive. Please Jay come out to the next club race at IMI and watch how close these kids are and realize that the Supplied Honda motor program is not as brad as it seems.
Thanks

ParticipantWatching Angies kids through 2 practices, qualifying, heat race and the main they were so closely matched is what made me change my mind. When we were practicing today Tyler was running 49’s which is what I believe Angies kids were running on Sunday. As far as the old comers go E-bay is always a good option or Comer-Jet is always looking for comer motors. The cost of the motor is $450 which isn’t that much more than blueprinting the comer and you don’t have to buy the Honda if you don’t want to it is supplied with the entry fee on race day. Angie would love to come out Sat. but we will be in Neb. practicing Mini-Cups.
Thanks

There were 2 hondas and 1 comer. We are expecting at least 5 hondas next race and I do not know who is running comer. We are off to the track now to run the honda and I will post lap times for the comer and the honda later.
Thanks

ParticipantJay,
We will be at IMI today running the Honda, feel free to come out and do the same. The motor is supplied on race day at no additonal cost and it is available for practice for $10 a day. Here is a link to information on the Honda. http://www.honda-engines.com/gxh50.htm#

ParticipantMr Hansen,
I do not know the exact price of the motor because Brad is letting us use them as part of the entry fee for the IMI club races. I do not know if they can be run at the CSC races but contact Brad at IMI for further info.
Jay,
I do not recall Brad asking me for any money for anything regarding the Honda motor. What I do recall is you not being at the race to witness the equal playing field that the honda motor provides. Do not be so quick to judge something that you have not seen. As far as you having 2 motors that are legal with any nationally recognized sanctioning body. !!!Are you sure that the seals are not leaking!!! If you want a Comer motor that is absolutely legal that will turn over 9500 RPM with a 69 gear on the track guaranteed let me know I have one for sale because we are switching to the Honda motor.

ParticipantBlink,
Although we are running the comer 50 blueprined kid kart class for Tyler this year we believe that you are doing a good thing. There was so many people complaining aboutout cheating last year that we believe that you are the only one taking a proactive position on trying to solve this big problem. Thanks Brad for offering so much.
Thanks BradJay Luttrull
ParticipantIf the date is changed is there any chance that the mini cups would be allowed to race that day since we have included that date in our Tri State Grand National schedule and have at least 9 confirmed racers at this time and possibly more by the April 2nd date?
Thanks
