David’s surgery went very well, tripple by-pass. He rested in CCU last night, has been awake, alert, sitting up and standing this morning. The doctors may move him to a regular room sometime today.
Many thanks to all for the tremendous out pouring of support.
Have a Great Weekend!

ParticipantMargay’s are American made, good quality and very fast. Get yours from Brad at IMI.
Margay Karts have been very successful in IKF and WKA for many years. And, Oh buy the way, a Margay kart was driven to the Mini Max class championship at this years Rotax Grands.

ParticipantThank you Curt
We believe we have a vision that is shared by many. We want karting to grow in a very positive way and having a single sanctioning body state wide is one way to promote that vision. We also believe that membership of a kart club/association can accomplish that goal. What ever the kart club community wants is what will happen. We are looking at giving them the opportunity to make that decision is the right thing to do. Hopefully the kart track and shop owners will support that as well. In our minds it is a win win situation.

Welcome back and thanks for all the info from Las Vegas.
Concerning club racing and kart clubs. One thing all successful kart clubs seem to have in common is they run a nationally recognized sanctioning body. WHY? economics, rule/s uniformity and in our case more choices for the karting community/famlies to race other tracks, not just intra-state but outside without having to have other equipment, i.e. engine packages, tires, and rules. What I learned about kart clubs is they normally start with a small group (say 30 to 35 people) sharing a common interest in growing their karting community. In our case, it could be state wide.
This forum is not the place to really accomplish anything. I am sure you have seen that, looking at the history of post to the general public. So I won’t bat this around. What we will do, is hold an organizational meeting, by invitation and RSVP. It will not be open to the public for obvious reasons. It will be for those that want to discuss having a kart club/association. All Colorado karters are welcome to request a invitation as that is what we have been asked by those who have responded to our original post. If you are interested in attending the meeting, please feel free to call me as we welcome your input and envolvement.
For those who are reading this and have already requested an invitation, we are looking at holding the meeting in early January. Additionally, surveys will be mailed out the end of December to get input for discussion points for the meeting.
Again, the meeting will be facilitator format with Q&A, we will have a guess speaker, free buffet and refreshments. Please no alcohol during the presentation. More to follow on time, date and location. My apologies Curt, my written comm. skills are not the best. Thanks,
Eddy

Look at the following kart club websites LAKC, San Diego Kart Club and the Pheonix Kart Racing Association. There are others as well. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me.

ParticipantOK, here goes,
I’ve been beating this drum since moving to Colorado 3 years ago. There seems to be many that would support.
Class structure can be simplified by adopting a unifying sanctioning body, i.e. IKF, Tag USA, WKA, etc. Pick one. The key is we run it at every track in the CSC. Individual track owners could utilize track option in their club series for running classes currently not run in a primary sanctioning body.
Advantages of a state wide single sanctioning body: all weights/engine spec’s/ tires and rules would be the same. This would simplify tech and make it more cost effective for the competitors and race officials. Additionally, this would reduce administrative cost of running the CSC under the current business model.
Just a basic idea on what my thoughts are on growing the sport in the state.

ParticipantThanks Jim, for us that works, as we did not want to miss out on the last scheduled race at The Track for the season. We had other plans/commitments this weekend.
