What a day! It ended very well. We put a time down in the last session that should put us in the top 5. But we had to work our tails of to get there. The morning started with our primary kart’s motor not wanting to pull off the slow corners. That’s a killer here. We switched to the back up kart and it ran very good. So we switched motors to the primary kart and dropped a quick 2 seconds. But we were still 1 second off. There is a kid in our tent who sent quick time for the day so we knew were we needed to be.

We made a few more changes, plus, Greg is finally coming to grips with the track. In the last two sessions, Greg was really passing people. In fact, we didn’t get passed all day. By the end, we were passing 10 to 15 guys per session. We have a bit more to get from the kart and we think we know where to get it. I think we can get a bit more from Greg too.

Brian is doing very well. He’s still 3 seconds off but he dropped 3 seconds today! Before this is over, I’m sure he will do well.

In the last sessions we slowed down a bit. We made changes to both chassis and jetting. We went the right way with the chassis, the wrong way with the jetting. We were slow off the slow corners. The data showed the kart quicker at mid corner but the motor was dying on pickup. We made some more changes and will see how they do.

Jetting is sure different when you have air!

3rd done. Kart is ripping fast. We left the group behind us and closed on the group in front. Passed several along the way. Some of the fast guys were slower than us. Don’t know times yet. Now its lunch break, we are going to change ride height for a little more grip in the rear.

Just getting ready for the third session. Things went well in the first, we were passing people. That’s a good sign. Coming off, a balance gear broke and we missed the second.

Just a quick morning update. As far as I know, Brian and Greg are the only drivers from Colorado. There were 47 entered in Greg’s class. I don’t know how many in Mini-Max but I do know it’s not a full field. So far it’s dry but I’m sure we will see some rain before this thing is over.

What your describe is extremely unusual. In fact, I’ve never seen it happen. Try this, take the power valve out. Remove the blade. Use a bit of red Lock-Tite and re-assemble. Use a 10mm wrench to hold it to seat the stud and blade. It should not come out. It is possible the threads in the diaphragm are stripped and not keeping the stud seated.

16 to 20 turns out is best for the adjustment.

PPIR has been bought and will open for SCCA club, NASA, RMVR, road race bike and car club track use. There also maybe a karting element. It too early to tell for sure as they are still trying to figure out the master plan. At this point, it looks like the track is the golf course(a metaphor) for the industrial development they want to do.

If someone took a 125 shifter kart around High Plains Raceway, it would be quickest short of a full blown IRL car. At Second Creek, Greg in his 60cc shifter was quicker than a full blown 911.

Put the needle in the 2nd position and leave it alone. That’s the second groove from the top. No Rotax will pull below 6,000. Even then, you can’t mash the gas. You must squeeze the throttle.

We have had our Rotax on the podium for each of the CSC events so far. After every main event, our engine has been torn down. We have cut the seal off it every time. Tech has the option to respect the seal or not respect it, it’s their call.

At the Grand Junction event, tech was going to respect the seal. I asked to be torn down and inspected because I was tired of hearing all the crap about our motors. We were asked to cut our seal at IMI this past weekend and we did.

As a service to all Rotax racers, if you are asked to cut your seal at any event here in Colorado that I or our shop attends, we will re-seal your motor in tech for the cost of the seal (less than $4.00). If you remove your motor from tech unsealed and then bring it in to the shop, regular rates apply. The bottom line is this, if we are at the race, call us into tech so we can reseal your motor at no charge (just parts if needed)

You do not need a seal for TagUSA rules.

Brake cleaner works also. Careful with some graphics though, most have a clear coat and will not run, some won’t.

    I got this just now.

    “Hi There,
Thank you for your email. I still have it for sale. It’s in great working condition, has no scratches or dents, never been involved in any kind of accidents. I can assure you that it’s full operational.Unfortunately for the moment i am outside of my state for the next 3 months due to my new working contract ( i am a construction engineer ). When i have received this working contract, i have decided to close the transaction using a Third Party Agency (This type of agency will take care of all the transaction details). A transaction closed through this agency will assure safety for both buyer and seller at the same time. The name of the agency that i prefer to use is The OnLine OutPost.
This is a company provided by eBay for transactions closed over the Internet. It is very safe, recommended by eBay and also by Craigslist.
At this moment the product is located into The OnLine OutPost custody. I have left it there because in case we`ll agree to close the transaction they will take care of all the arrangements. If you are interested to purchase it please feel free to mail me for more information regarding the transaction terms.

    Thank you in advance!

    Ya think its fraud?

For the CSC race in August, I expect the fast juniors to be in the high 54 range. Seniors might make low 54.

Pole for the CSC race should be in the 53 second range. A club race in the 55 range.
