ParticipantThe Leopard does charge the battery and the Rotax does not. The Leopard will run (but you need an outboard starter) without a battery but the Rotax will not. The Rotax battery will last all weekend with a simple charge over night on Friday. The Leopard charging system is a bit weak so the battery often needs a little charge boost sometime during the week. It too will last all weekend.
In my mind, the battery is a none issue.

ParticipantThe only special tool you really need is a flywheel puller. If the crank hasn’t been slip fitted, you will need a simple puller to separate the case halves. If it has been slip fitted, and most kart engines have had that done, simply whack the end of the crank with a rubber mallet and it should fall apart. Buying a Honda manual would be a big help because when it falls apart, lots of stuff goes rolling on to the floor!

ParticipantYou two must be gorillas!! 100 push ups? I’m struggling to get past 10. On the other hand, 100 crunches, not a problem.
Last year at this time, I weighed in at 250#. This morning I was 190#. Ive managed to maintain this weight for about 6 months now but…..
Its a lot of hard work.
Each morning I get up at 5:00 and work out for about an hour to this guy

I also try to walk about 4 miles but that’s hard to do with the foul weather and long work hours. In the summer it was easy to get it done but now, I got to use the hamster wheel and that is boring!!!!!!These next few weeks suck. With having to live with a woman who is a fantastic cook and baker, its going to be rough. This weekend she made all kinds of cookies and candy and its laying every where around the house. I gain weight just walking through the room.

You maybe in the 35+ crowd, but slow????????????????? I don’t think so. Tag Masters is certainly the biggest group but there is a growing number in the heavy stock shifter.

SuperNats, You in? That field will be very tough.

ParticipantI’m one who has advocated a licensing structure for a long time. Thanks Jim.

ParticipantWe were in 9th when the throttle cable stuck. Wide open is not the way to drive a kart in the rain. So Greg had to start in 34th spot. He drove his butt off to finish 10th.
We head back tomorrow and will be home Monday night. See you all then.

ParticipantThanks guys for all the kind words. It has been helpful and appreciated. After every race, Greg’s text goes nuts!
As Jeff posted, Greg starts the pre-final in 11th spot. He has been second or third quick in every race so far. The first few turns are NUTS. The last heat race was very hard. The guys Greg was trying to get around did not want to go. From what I hear, Howden’s broadcast has been very kind to us. I guess he made a big deal of Greg passing two guys in turn 5. He missed the third heat, he passed 3 guys under braking in turn 5!
Tomorrow has a 70% chance of rain for our pre-final and 80% for our main. I think our time in the wet yesterday was 5th quick over all so we like our chances.
Our pre-final is 11:30 and main at 3:20. Check it out on Racefanradio.com
Thanks again.

ParticipantWe run counter clock wise. Basically we are following the outside loop and cut across the oval just before the start/finish line. It is like a roller coaster. There is at least 20/30′ of elevation change in some corners. The g loads are incredible.

This track is brutal. Greg is beat up from driving, not the wreck. He says a couple of Tylenol and adrenalin keeps the pain under control. He says that in the kart, he feels no pain but out, he can hardly breath!

ParticipantHi guys.
The heat was full wet. Qualifying sucked, Beard is an idiot. Came right out in front of Greg in the fastest part of the track and gave him no where to go. Then blames Greg. What a dip. However, the officials saw it differently.
The heat was good. Greg started 11, moved to 6th. He had to pass each one and unfortunately, the camera wasn’t on the kart.
Brian did great for his first rain race. He kept in on the track and finished 9th.
Rick, the kart is in fine shape. Lost a nose, spindle, king pin bolt and a steering column. Just the usual stuff.
It’s so cool that so many of you are keeping track, thanks guys.

ParticipantThanks for the support guys.
Well, the day finished crappy. 18th???????????????????????
Actually, we missed on the jetting big time. A cold front passed, we didn’t get it and the jetting went way lean. It would not get out of the slow corners. Its a shame because Greg said the kart was the best it had been yet!
We’re still in the fast group so we will go out last for qualifying. We go out about 2:30 local time. It will be live on Race Fan radio so tune in.
We got a top 5 kart, we just have to prove it.

ParticipantToday is an off day. All we did today was paper work and double check the kart. Its fun for me as I get to renew friendships, talk with customers from all over the country, and catch up with dealers.
The weather was very nice today, sunny and warm. The kart flew through tech with flying colors. We are still trying to upload a video but am having difficulty with our connection. I’ll let you know once we get it up.
Tomorrow the bull stops. We have 4 practice sessions and we must have transponders on for each practice. Times will be posted so we will know who’s got what.

ParticipantToday was a VERY good day. The field is chasing our tent. The quick time of the day was Michael Self at a 59.79. Second quick was Greg at 59.95. No one else broke the 1 minute mark. Self is pitting with us general, and it is working out great. The two boys are sharing data. Michael is faster in some spots, we are faster in other. In general, Michael is quicker in the fast stuff, Greg in the slow stuff.
The kart Greg is using is the first of our new production karts. The motor is the one I’ve been using in the CSC but with Rotax jets.
Greg is uploading a video right now that will be up on YouTube in a bit. I’ll post the link once its up.
Brian is making huge progress. We trimmed 1.5 seconds off his time today. I’m really proud of him.
