I agree with Larry. I have been to many a national race and yes the racing is aggressive. However, if you punt a guy to pass him, the race finishes with a black/checker and the punter finishes behind the puntie. At some big deal races where the drivers are very aggressive, I’ve seen almost every checker with a black flag. They actually watch the races. I have NEVER seen a black/checker finish at a race in Colorado (except the PMT in GJ) and I have never seen a driver punished for aggressive driving. At least 3 or 4 should have been this past weekend.

He was the one in the weeds all day. There was more carnage in the masters than the teenager class.

It was nice to see 20 lap Mike complete the main.

Oh wait, that was him I saw standing in the weeds just before the S turns.

    Just kidding Mike.

The only needles to come stock in a Rotax are the K27 and the K98. Looks like some one was trying to find a leaner needle to get better low rpm pull. If you decide to go RMax, I would look at other parts such as the slide. It may be changed also. Many put a 45 slide in them. The only slide legal in Rotax is the 40.

On the spec gear, yes, we will be running the 13/82 combination as per the spec gear for the grands. In the past, a 155 was the minimum jet size. At our elevation, we may need to go smaller but Rotax has a warranty concerns if we go too small. Once I get a firm answer, I will let everyone know ASAP.

Angie is correct. We intend to run to the same specs that the Grands will run and that is the 13/82 ratio. The main reason the 13/82 version is speced is that most Rotax engines come with a 13 tooth sprocket stock. This way the parent doesn’t need to go purchase a sprocket.

More on race day procedures will be posted once we finalize them. Nationally, jet size is a minimum of 155 and that will be the spec here.

Yes, MiniMax will run to full spec per Rotax grands. That includes spec gear and chest protectors. For the first race, we will not be overly harsh on items that are not preformance related such as decal placment. However, all racers are strongly encouracged to get and read the Rotax rules, procedures and primer as posted on the RMax web site.

All registered racers will be getting their license packages soon. Most were sent out via bulk mail a week ago and should start ariving next week.

As of right now, the Mile High Challenge is the 4th largest Rotax series in the country! Keep them coming in guys and THANK YOU for your support.

It also had a very sweet sound without being too loud ? unlike the #5 two stroke shifter kart that damaged everyone?s ears between here and Wyoming. It may be time to bring out the db meter and start pulling noise abusers off the track. Everyone I talked to companied about that one particular kart.!

What the guy dosn’t realize is that most likely he was loosing power with that little silencer on an ICC. These motors need a bit of back pressure and the factory silencers are better tuned for power. Louder is not necessarly better in a two stroke.

Why are you trying to stir up trouble when none exists? As of March 1st, I have the list of everyone in the United States that has signed up with Rotax. As of the date of that list, more racers have signed up for the Mile High Challenge than any other in the state. In fact, the Mile High Challenge is one of the largest in the country.

I hope CRE does in fact get more Rotax guys signed up. I know that the Mile High challenge will get a bunch more as well. It’s all good for Rotax if we have two of the largest series in the country and its great for karting in Colorado. I also hope that many of the CRE Rotaxians race the occasional Mile High Challenge as I’m sure some of the Mile High guys go southward. For those racers who are serious about preparing for the Grands, they will need to get all the racing in they can against others with Mojo’s.

If CRE can get a strong program and so can the Mile High Challenge, what’s wrong with that? You will notice that most of the names on the Mile High list are new to Rotax racers, and that is very, very good for Rotax. You seem to want to make this an us vs them thing when I prefer to look at it as how great can the Rotax program get. A big program at CRE only helps Rotax, it only helps promote the grands and we stand a better chance of seeing a Coloradian in Dubai next fall.

That’s my goal, to see one of our guys going to the worlds. In the past, its been guys from Florida, California and Texas mostly going. Time to change that. The fact that when we only had a couple fo guys last year and this year we have so many, that speaks well for what Jim and Rotax hoped to accomplish by bring the grands to Colorado.

By the way, Rich you are on the list of racers who have not renewed.

Every one of us has off days or times when we just don’t have time. Barry is one of the good guys in our sport and I’m sure if you give him another chance, you will be impressed.

Used kid karts are a bit hard to come by in that they get snapped up quickly when a kid moves up to a cadet. Many of us do not stock kid karts because there isn’t enough in them to make them worth keeping in stock. Most of us only order them when a customer wants one. The best time to look for one is in the fall when kids are moving from kid karts to cadet.

But having said all that, the get together of kid karts at Bandi this weekend would be a good place for you to stop in at. Jay and company will have several of them over there and they can help get you pointed in the right direction. We will be at The Track tomorrow and you are welcome to come over and talk with us. We are easy to find, we have Shockwave Karting on the trailer and our shirts.

Any Rotaxian can run in any series in the country. However, only those who have declared that particular series their “home” series can collect points in that series. So any Gatorz, CRE or other series racers will not exist as far as points are concerned. The top finishing Mile High challenge member will get first place points and so on.

Shockwave Karting as the local Rotax dealer will be there with complete support. That includes any Rotax parts or tires a racer may need.

Did you see the part in my post about waiting until the last minute? I am sending Greg’s in this week. He will be running both DD2 and International. Jeff maybe back in June. We will figure out what he wil run once he gets back.
