    Can you break those out into classes?

    I’d like to know if the Front Range Club series is going to be running with the Rotax or separately for TAG Masters.

    Together.
    A full field is 36-38 karts. Until we get to that number, the group will run as one. Believe me, you will need the practice in a large field just as much as seat time with the Mojo’s. Don’t let the tire difference matter to you. I bet the lap times at The Track are the same be it yellows or Mojo’s.
    Besides, if you are not in the low 57’s or high 56’s in Masters, you better be out putting in laps. The rest is just bench racing.

    The GATORZ guys are coming on March 31-April 1st.

    The rooms are booked and the trip arrangements are made.

    Is there anything we should know about fuel, tires, entry, practice, etc. ?

    I try to make it easy out here.
    You may bring your own tires, fuel and oil. It is available at The Track if you need it.
    Practice for Sat is $35.00.
    The Race registration is on the Web site under the racing link.

    Awesome! ❗ I?m glad you GATORZ guys are making such a commitment to come have fun with us Mile High dudes. I met a few of you at South Bend ? seem like a great bunch. I trust you will like The Track and will find a friendly welcome.

    Jim can provide specifics but unless he has had a chance to expand his operations (this is a new facility), he will have spec fuel but be light on oil, tires, Rotax parts, etc. So come prepared. There are a number of other shops in the Denver area that can provide you with almost anything you could need but you don?t want to spend your limited time running around.

    As discussed in other threads you will likely run with the Mile High Rotaxians and TaG guys. It should make for interesting racing. If too many drivers sign up (nice problem to have) Jim has indicated he will separate the ?tax guys. Jim, if this scenario happens, can you run the out-of-state ?tax guys with the Mile High ?tax guys? I think that is what everyone would want even if they are scored separately for series points.

    As promised, I?ll bring a free keg. :cheers: Just remember to drive responsibly on and off the track. 😆

    Any Rotaxian can run in any series in the country. However, only those who have declared that particular series their “home” series can collect points in that series. So any Gatorz, CRE or other series racers will not exist as far as points are concerned. The top finishing Mile High challenge member will get first place points and so on.

    Shockwave Karting as the local Rotax dealer will be there with complete support. That includes any Rotax parts or tires a racer may need.

    Did you see the part in my post about waiting until the last minute? I am sending Greg’s in this week. He will be running both DD2 and International. Jeff maybe back in June. We will figure out what he wil run once he gets back.

    Sorry Doug! I should have mentioned that you are at the track on race weekends providing great service and support as well as having a large stock of parts.

    I think you should put one of those DD2 motors in your flower painted Miata and do some laps while the boys turn wrenches and shoot the breeze.

    Where do you get your figures when CRE has 24 “Declared” and you show 15 and make the above statement?

    So what is wrong here?

    is the difference that CRE has 15 declared but they have not registered with rotax? If this is the case then the tables are going to flip flop soon and CRE will have the numbers not The Track.

    Why are you trying to stir up trouble when none exists? As of March 1st, I have the list of everyone in the United States that has signed up with Rotax. As of the date of that list, more racers have signed up for the Mile High Challenge than any other in the state. In fact, the Mile High Challenge is one of the largest in the country.

    I hope CRE does in fact get more Rotax guys signed up. I know that the Mile High challenge will get a bunch more as well. It’s all good for Rotax if we have two of the largest series in the country and its great for karting in Colorado. I also hope that many of the CRE Rotaxians race the occasional Mile High Challenge as I’m sure some of the Mile High guys go southward. For those racers who are serious about preparing for the Grands, they will need to get all the racing in they can against others with Mojo’s.

    If CRE can get a strong program and so can the Mile High Challenge, what’s wrong with that? You will notice that most of the names on the Mile High list are new to Rotax racers, and that is very, very good for Rotax. You seem to want to make this an us vs them thing when I prefer to look at it as how great can the Rotax program get. A big program at CRE only helps Rotax, it only helps promote the grands and we stand a better chance of seeing a Coloradian in Dubai next fall.

    That’s my goal, to see one of our guys going to the worlds. In the past, its been guys from Florida, California and Texas mostly going. Time to change that. The fact that when we only had a couple fo guys last year and this year we have so many, that speaks well for what Jim and Rotax hoped to accomplish by bring the grands to Colorado.

    By the way, Rich you are on the list of racers who have not renewed.

    I would also like to see one of more racers from Colorado make it to the world finals. It doesn?t matter what part of the state they come from. There are some great racers in this state and it will be nice to see that talent pitted against the best of the best in the country.

    On a different topic, how nice was the practice yesterday at The Track? You think a few people had cabin fever? Oh my gosh! When we pulled up (just after the gates opened, I thought we were at a CSC event. If you didn?t get to The Track early then you were delegated to the back row for pit space. I don?t know what the final count was but there were more people on the track at any given moment than you see racing during CSC events. Kudos to Jim and the crew for keeping things running smoothly with so many people practicing.

    It was also nice to see so many Rotax packages. There had to have been more Rotaxes out there than any other engine package. It must be a reflection of the excitement of having the Grand Nationals here this year. However, the hit of the day was clearly the new Vampire four stroke TaG engine. Anytime Jim took that kart on the track people stopped what they were doing to watch. That thing was ungodly fast. It was passing shifters down the straights and eating other Tag?s for lunch. It also had a very sweet sound without being too loud ? unlike the #5 two stroke shifter kart that damaged everyone?s ears between here and Wyoming. It may be time to bring out the db meter and start pulling noise abusers off the track. Everyone I talked to companied about that one particular kart.

    All in all, a great day and a good sign for Rotax. Bring on Spring and some sunshine!

    What the guy dosn’t realize is that most likely he was loosing power with that little silencer on an ICC. These motors need a bit of back pressure and the factory silencers are better tuned for power. Louder is not necessarly better in a two stroke.

    Thanks for the kind words.
    The motor I was having fun playing with was the Rotary Axiro 50.
    It has been great to use as a tool for driving schools, and out having FUN!!!
    The rebuild time is 300 hours, and it uses a shifter chain with a steel sproket, so wear and tear is almost nothing (except brakes and tires!!!)

    I agree with the noise. Mike from Barrys shop somehow thinks loud is fast, but that was put to bed yesterday.
    He won’t be welcomed back if he shows up with that again.
