Looks like I will not make it, had other commitments this weekend. Sounds like a fun day of inexpensive racing. If I happen to wake up before 6am tomorrow and do not want to roll over and go back to bed I might make the trip over.

I think what Stan is saying is all he does is post in the news section of the forum. From there I bet the software of the site takes the post and puts it on the home page. So technically no one is playing favorites it is just the software doing what it is programed to do. This would not be the first forum I have seen that does this.

I think you should post in the news section anyways. I personally never visit the home page I come to the main forum index page and see what topics have new posts read them and leave. So if you post something on the home page and not the forums I am one person that would never see the post. I am sure I am not alone. You have to go back to May of 2012 to see a post from someone other then Stan or Mike in the news section. Why are so few tracks not posting the news from their tracks there?

How many out of state racers are going to see and post here? The promoters in mountain biking when you go to the registration website, they have every person that has registered listed by class. Makes a huge difference in wanting to attend a race if you see 20 people signed up or 80 people. As a promoter I cannot see any reason not to do this. Look at the thread on EKN right now about racing for a trophy or money. Most people are racing for the competition. Lets start advertising the exact competition you will race at the RMPKC races.

As of right now i am not going to be at GJ. The money to enter this race was used to rebuild my motor that blew up at IMI. Now if my class started to show a good size to it I might have to scrap the money together to attend.

Is there somewhere we can see a pre-entry list? Mountain bike races I have attended in the past you could see an up to date list of who had entered. Helped people who were on the fence decide to race since they could see exactly who they were getting to race against. I am not racing rounds 4 and 5 right now because money is tight. If my class starts looking really strong I will start really scrapping to get some money together to attend.

What motor will we run is the big question.

Don’t you have to run the same brand motor for all three pro tour races?

I plan on racing the Tag Senior or master class. Not quite sure which one yet leaning towards senior. The only other class I might race would be Rotax but I am doubting that my motor will be sealed.

I like seeing a true regional Schedule, thanks to all those that helped make this happen. Looks like I picked a good time to get into karting in CO. SKUSA is quickly becoming the top sanctioning body(just sent my membership in today) in my book. With a great variety of races and race classes. I cannot wait for the season to get started.

Just some questions on the schedule.

The schedule posted in this thread is:
    Three double event weekends
    May 4th & 5th Rounds 1&2 Miller MotorSports Park
    July 6th & 7th Rounds 3&4 Grand Junction MotorSpeedway
August 31st, September 1st Rounds 5&6 Miller Motorsports Park
2013 Rocky Mountain ProKart Challenge Banquet September 1st (Miller Motorsports Park)

On the website this is the schedule:
    2013 Event Schedule
Rounds 1&2 – May 3-5 -Miller Motorsports Park
Round 3 – May 24-25 -IMI Motorsports Complex
Rounds 4&5 -July 5-7 -Grand Junction Motor Speedway
Rounds 6&7 -August 16-18 -track location TBA

If it is the schedule I linked to I think people will be happy to see a track from the east side of the mountains has been added.

I also have a question about the Rotax in the tag class. Will they follow the Rotax Challenge technical regulations? They changed this year and only allow the 8.5 carb and not allowing the 12.5. I am just wondering if I need to start looking for a new carb.

I am just starting out and love the idea of a state series. I do not want to just race at one or two tracks. I want to race at all of them. In racing mountain bikes I loved always going to different courses and trying to be fast. It gets boring racing the same track over and over. If done right the state series can become the series to race in for more then just racers in Colorado. Lets build up karting here and produce some of the top drivers in the country. It would be great if others looked at a list of entries at a national and not knowing the driver but seeing they are from Colorado means they will be hard to beat. We are lucky to have so many tracks in this state and they all have their own characteristics. Anyone have a contact to get a race at the track by Aspen? No one will have an advantage there due to having hundreds of more laps then others.

I really like the idea of multiple engines allowed in the classes. Each engine has its own characteristics and will be an advantage or disadvantaged depending on the track. I think racers just need to commit to one brand engine for the series. This way the driver that can afford multiple engines does not gain an advantage. Can the same even be done for tires? Restrict tires based on durometer not brand, just make drivers commit to a brand for the season? I just feel the fewer changes drivers have to make from what they run at their club races the more likely they will be to come to the races. Having these multiple brands could also make the series more appealing for sponsors. Why sponsor a race or driver if everyone already has to use your stuff?
