ParticipantWhen you look at the 07 schedule you might first say thats way to much. Now I ask all to compare the 07 schedule to the 07 calender. AWESOME JOB TO ALL I can’t make all the races but what A GREAT JOB YOU’VE DONE!

ParticipantThanks, unfortunately I’m working and out of town that evening, again!
Can someone post topics discussed that evening.Just to put in my two cents worth since I can’t be there, I have three boys who I plan on running novice 80, could someone make the suggestion that there will be support for a K3 class.
Thanks Chris W.

ParticipantAnyone know when the meetings going to be held?

ParticipantThanks Angie and All, I’m glad to hear you have given this some thought.
I have a friend whose son raced with my boys SCCA autocross who wants to race this next season. He turns 12 in June and therefore by current rules would have to race minimax or 80 shifter and I do believe that they want to race Jr1 their first year. It would be a shame if they didn’t join because of this. I know rules are what they are but it seems like a bit of large jump to go from Briggs Raptors to minimax or 80’s because we have no place for beginning drivers who start a little later than kidkarts to go. As well as the required $ to make that sort of commitment. I look forward to seeing the schedule for next year as well some required experience levels for the CSC.
Once again thanks to all and I know we’ve covered this ground before, just my two cents worth!

ParticipantAngie and all,
Thanks so much for your efforts it sounds like a great next season.
I do just have one question, this doesn’t effect me but it seems there is no place for 12yr olds to start unless its in mini-max or 80 shifters? I know last year JR1 Animal could race up to 12yrs. Any thoughts?

ParticipantScott,
Just to let you know as our name has been used as possible JR1 entrants. The Wogrins, Connor Colin and Cameron will not be running JR1 next season, we will however be competing in the CSC. We wish the class much success.Chris Wogrin
ParticipantWill miss you Dirt boy and the Princess sends her regards.

ParticipantYou know back when I was a lot younger we use to do the same thing for ski jumping at Steamboat the calcutta was a blast and we use to get a local establishment to host it. For the underaged we’d supply sodas and the rest of us, well you know. The local eatery made buckets of money we’d contribute 10% of the money collected to the racers, and everyone had a good time. Then the next day we’d compete for the money, who cares if you win it, just knowing it was there made all the more fun. I’m building a 125 shifter and I’m in.

ParticipantI just wish there was a simple solution, I agree the flying dutchman close racing and seat time at a resonable cost for beginners will develop a class.
My three sons are just in love with the sport and can’t wait till the next race, I love to see their unbridled enthusiasm. But the prospect of having to buy three new engines to continue next season if thats whats decided would probably drive us out of the CSC. I realize that a unified JR1 class will be best for the sport but can’t help thinking that keeping cost down would be the better path. I know the arugument that the mini max is a engine that can used for a number of classes as kids grow, I guess I wonder if its the engine to use for JR1. For kids that started in kid karts it seems like quite a jump to mini max and for children like my boys I’m not sure that parents who start their children at later age. Would want to start out in mini max not to mention the initial cost. Anyway thats my current feelings on the subject and look forward to seeing all at Bandimere.

ParticipantJust my two cents worth, but all three of my boys engines are just that, box stock animals for under 600, and being just newbies they had some very good battles with both the one mod k80 and the other stock k80. I look forward to hearing where we go with the classes in the CSC and I understand that racing costs money but keeping the costs down would benefit all.

ParticipantI’ll second that. Angie thanks to you and all that put forth the effort to organize these races. The boys loved it, we all learned alot, and we look forward to the rest of the year.

ParticipantBeing new to the local kart scene but not new to racing. My one observation is,racers never change, just the size of their toys.

ParticipantThat parking lot sat vacant since they opened the new airport. Now every time I fly into AUS, it seems at least someone is driving the track, on weekend racedays the place is packed. Amazing what a little thought and vision can do.
