ParticipantI can’t get on there either…

ParticipantI am kinda curious as well. Though I ran WAY to many laps on my 219 setup and hooked my chainring completely. I am finally getting together a list of all the things I need to look over when I come back from a track day.

ParticipantGreat instructions, thanks! I will be taking my axle out for the first time once I finish lining up some. parts. I will probably stop by your shop Doug, I haven’t been down there yet and I need one of those tools!

Participant😯 Wow, that is FAST… I need practice. Nice work!

Tag Worlds should be great as well. Brads asphalt contractor will get it right this time. Brad has probably gotten himself a pretty good education on what proper asphalt composition is and there is no way out for the guys doing the paving.
When is the repave of the repave happening?

ParticipantMy brake issue was strange, I pulled everything apart and found some gaskets in backwards. I switched things around and everything feels pretty good now.

ParticipantThanks Jeff I appreciate the info. Like I said, I don’t really have any desire to tinker to much just yet. My lap times vary by about 1 second now and I really need to figure out how to be smoother in some of the tight corners so I can get faster and more consistent.
I am excited to get a grasp on all the information though and I will have to come up with a good way to log all my settings so I can keep track of it all when I do start tinkering.

ParticipantThanks Kirk,
That makes sense. I have been reading all the various chassis setup writeups that I can find, most say about the same thing, but I am just trying to get a grasp on all the info. With that being said, what is a good starting point for running tire pressure in MG’s.

ParticipantI am a newb as well, but I picked up a sparco ribvest based on advice from a member here and when I get in my seat it is tight enough that I can not move at all. It is snug enough that I think maybe it is too snug. But when I am driving all I can think about is how any bigger and I would get tossed all over the place.
So from my limited experience, dont skimp on the ribvest and get a nice tight fit on the seat.

ParticipantNew fuel line and filter are installed! I managed to purge every bit of air out of the line for now, we will see if it develops new bubbles though..
Now I just have to re-bleed the brakes, they were acting up a bit yesterday and I can see they definitely have air in the lines. I have to head back to IMI to pick up a bleeding kit.
Any tricks for bleeding from those of you with experience? I have bled car and bicycle disc brakes, but you never know if there is some sort of quirk with this stuff.I fried a coil yesterday too, which is a bit crappy, but we got it running and all is well. I also changed my first tire…which was an adventure. I am sure I will figure out the trick over time.
Brad, Bobby and Ron have been a great help and resource over at IMI. I am psyched to have their knowledge available for all my learning mishaps and to help iron out the gremlins.
Oh and Brad, turns out there is another coil in my box of goodies! I just have to find out if it is good or not.

Participant3-5 hours? Really? That seems like it may be a bit overkill…right?

Yes, the fuel catch can must be vented. The air in your line is a different issue. Did you change the fuel line from that solid blue line you had?
No, not yet, but I did go through and purge the air out of it like you said. I will have to get a clear line soon so I can see what is going on. It seems fine when I am running, it is just on startup that there is an issue.

ParticipantYeah, I am like a junkie looking for his fix. I keep spending money like crazy!
I wish I could make it out to a couple races, but I am on this goofy schedule right now. So that isn’t going to work. I will be out at IMI after work as often as possible however, I got the track pass there and I would like to make it pay off before the light gets weak.
By the way, how often do they switch track directions at IMI?
CameraCourage
ParticipantThanks Kirk.
I went out to IMI today, dropped some more $$$ on stuff…cause you can’t have enough stuff. Then once I finally got some things dialed in, and the rain stopped and the track dried out, I got to drive.
Damn that was fun! I can’t wait to get back out there…maybe tomorrow :driver
