ParticipantThanks to everyone who took time to answer my endless questions this afternoon! (Larry, Craig, Rod, Rick, Greg, and Bob.)
I think I have decided on getting a Sr. Rotax package and will be keeping a close eye on the Classifieds after the Vegas National’s race.

ParticipantThanks Dave. I’ll be checking out the used selection this Saturday and hope to be on the track in my own gear soon!

ParticipantJust a quick MapQuest confirmation, is this where the fun is happening?

ParticipantI plan on heading up on Sunday to see what all the fuss is about. I didn’t see a clear schedule online so what would be the best time to show up to catch the finals?
Thanks,
Nick

the kart weight has little to do with the tounge weight. it is the weight that presses down on the the ball. Given that the kart will be somewhat over the wheels of the trailer it will likely be around 20-40 pounds. A class 2 hitch should be fine for a small kart trailer.
I was thinking more in terms of the Kartique kart stand that plugs into the receiver hitch as mentioned earlier in the thread. The full weight of the kart/stand would be supported only by the hitch in this case.

ParticipantOkay last question, I promise (in this thread anyway):
For the users of the hitch mount Kartique racks: What kind of weight am I looking at with a Sr. TaG Kart on the back?
I believe I can get a Class II hitch set up for a Forester which has a tonque weight of 300 lbs.

Move to Grand Junction and rent one of our garages at the track
If my last visit was any indication I don’t think I am old enough to move to Grand Junction yet! 😉

Kartique makes a transporting kart stand that slides onto a receiver hitch. The wheels fold up and you put the kart on top, when you get to the track or home you pull it off the hitch fold the wheels down and you have your kart stand! Small trailers are great but you still need a kart stand ounce you get there, this does both. They are available at Action Karting (Bandimere) or CRE for $379.95 and come with the hitch adapter.
I was actually considering building something like this so I am very intrigued! I will have to go check this out.
EDIT: Looks like this is what you are talking about?:

ParticipantThanks for the feedback everyone! I will have to look into one of the smaller trailers that I might be able to lean up against the side of the garage. (The neighbors are going to love me I am sure!)
