    Angel and family,

There is so little anyone can do but offer thoughts and prayers when someone is fighting this ugly disease. I know you have had great loss in your family and know also our racing family supported me while my Mom was fighting cancer. Given 2 months to live she made it over 5 years and moved on Christmas 5 years ago. In thinking back to our conversations when she was sick, I remember her saying that she believed “where we go from here is not that bad” and “as long as we talk about people they are never gone”

There is plenty of inspiration to be found as well. I have both Lance Armstrong (there may be more than 2?) books that are an inspiration for those around cancer http://www.livestrong.org/site/c.khLXK1PxHmF/b.2660611/k.BCED/Home.htm
is a great resource and support. One of our young local racers, Tyler has been in a major battle with the disease and has been climbing out and winning the fight. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/tylerluttrull

We will keep you in the thoughts and prayers in our family an extend any help / support you may need moving forward Angel.

One of our racing friends said to me “it’s like watching Roman race from the fence, you can offer hope but can only watch and pull for them” Pretty much how it went for me.

Hopefully she recovers and lives a full life. That’s what we hope and pray for now.

One thing I did with my Mom and Grandma was to buy a small recorder and have them tell stories of their life in their own words. It is so cool to hear their voice again, let the Grand daughters listen… It is cool to hear them tell stories about their life that would not get lost in translation down the road. It was something I am so glad I did!

If you help, to talk, a hug, to take frustration out in your kart, let me know, we’ll be there.

    regards,

    The Schmidts

What a cool offer Scott! This has to be one of the best bunch in karting and if you want to get faster, racing against these guys is about as good as it gets.

Good luck out there Scott and Merry Christmas to your family.

Good Cameraderie off the track and a very competitive attitude once the visor goes down.

Good cameraderie, especially off the track. (as Mike is displaying in this photo)

Not sure about that Curt? That could require Doug to switch over to a last minute “wet set up”

    +1

We were stoked listening to the call on the live streaming. Watching the timing was good, but hearing the call was fantastic! Glad you had fun and glad everyone made it home safe.

If you want to race the best and deepest fields, it sure seems to bring them.

And yes, Utah whipped some a$$, it will be good to race you guys in a regional atmosphere once again, it makes us all better.

Ok Mikey. Give us a full journalistic report (ala Tom Jensen) but better!

You make have to sneak it in during the sober windows but you can do it.

Have fun man, don’t be beating on your brother too bad.

    Rick

Gee Mike, I’ve been on a few several day runs myself, but it wasn’t all natural (if you know what I mean) turned 50 Monday but I’m still good for 48 hours. It’s the next 48 hours that are a little off.

Have fun on you first trip to the Supernationals, now you can see first hand why it is held in such high regard.

Please keep us updated with your photo journal, you can leave out the places that have poles from floor to ceiling!

Hows the excitement level for practice day? Make you want to go run with the big dogs? Think you can hang? I think you could.

    Man,

Have you looked at the entry list for the Supernationals?

Super Pro = unbelievable, Tag Senior, the same. All the classes are amazing!

This event could be brewing up to be the greatest sprint kart ever contested in the USA!

Equally exciting is the opportunity for racers in and around the state of Colorado to earn entry into the Supernationals as well as having an opportunity to race National level events against other regions. This all leading up to the Great race in the desert.

It may take Skusa a few years to grow this and other regions, and it may not be for every racer, but watch what you see happen in Vegas and you get a feel for what they are about. It is possible to have true Regional racing here in Colorado with a Spring National and Summer National to prepare and calibrate your skills for the “big one”. With four Regional races, there is still plenty of calender for the local series to thrive.

Cool to see some “first timers” going to compete or just to spectate. There may even be a few racers out there that aren’t supporting Skusa but are going to see the spectacle, hopefully Skusa lives up to your expectations!!!

Have fun and Good Luck Colorado racers!!!
