I can’t believe no one has commented on the series since it was posted. Let me be the first.Hey Roger,
I don’t think everyone let the For Realease announcement sit for 10 days intentionally.
Feedback I’ve heard indicates a lot of racers who are still a little numb to all the choices coming up and wondering why we couldn’t keep the racing unit whole? You think that affects the excitement a little? It could possibly dim future announcement’s from any of the promoters (not just Jim’s series) regarding the upcoming year. The fact that no one has responded is somewhat believable to me.You commented, you would “side” with Jim’s series, in an earlier post. I’m sure there are many who feel the same as you. I’m also sure there are people who would “side” Brad too. Personally, I like both. And there are others who may not know who to “side” with. Seems a shame this big karting family who has raced together for so many years could be separated to a degree. Sure it’s just a 4 race series here and a 4 race series there. Then there’s this club series and then that club series, oh yea, where does Rotax fit in? Is there one for Brad and one for Jim? And there will be more racing offered to the racer, what do they do? It does seem a little weird. Not sure everyone thinks “siding” is best for karting? Just like having to post everything to the 2 different racing websites to not look to one sided toward one “side”or the other. (seems a little like High School?) It’s just crazy to me. But this is what it has come to I suppose.
I am no authority Roger. But I’ve have heard several say they will do one or two of Jim’s and Check out Brads new track for a race, then go to Gj for one of the races to support the Cooks, not sure if it will be Jim’s or Brad’s series yet. Then maybe a race or two out of state for the hell of it. Don’t remember these racers expressing this same desire before, nor remember this many indecisive about their racing plans at this point of the season, but there is a lot of choices to look at.
I wouldn’t be too surprised by the lack of response Roger, things are just a little strange right now.
Re: Racing the Rockies
Post by RogerBonham I am looking forward to racing next year and this is the perfect place to hone in the skills I need.. Thank you all for Jim and everyone for doing this….
Not sure if Tom’s Supernationals are the National Championship your looking for next year Roger, but if it is, I hope you do well. And I hope the fields here are deep and you get the variety you need to get cut and ripped for that high stance you’ve set for yourself.
Happy Holidays.
Regards
Rick

ParticipantOk, Ok, I’ll kiss your feet or whatever.
No horse heads please. I have my speed racer flannel sheets on the bed right now.
Maybe you could just have me slapped around a little? Possibly a broken knee cap or two?

Glad you had fun Charles. You did a good job of representing Colorado.

ParticipantI will have the last of the Tires, fuel jugs and brakes pads at the Shockwave seminar and the banquet.
If not we’ll hook up later.

ParticipantMy Dad welded an extension to the brake pedal to enable left foot braking, we laid the clutch over to the left as far as it would go. Right foot braking felt weird. The shifters were opposite of todays sprint kart too. It caused more than one zing for me in a sprint shifter.
Cascade Locks was somewhere between Greeley and this?

EddyWait a minute…what? This is a can’o’worms! Do we need a new thread just for THIS? Where did you hear this? Does this fall under the ‘local exception’ rule? Are we throwing in the towel on TAGUSA? Gonna roll our own? The cat’s out of the bag now, let’s please discuss this.
Was there a dominant motor in Colorado Tag? Seemed the Rotax had great success at all tracks. (if there was anything close to domination) If The track series does Miller, Gj, TTAC and Vegas, as was rumored, the Rotax would work, but a hard kart….now that’s another story. 😉

ParticipantThat would be cool watching you out there racing again Roger. Tag Masters has had some great racing lately, might be a good choice if you can get the nut without shifting? They are not all over 35 but Jim could make that an option I suppose.
Rotax Masters might be good this year too. You’ll have to race the younger big crowd, but you can handle them. Either way, your going to have to strap on some weight to run the old, slow, big class. :bang
Should be about another 3 years before your son starts burning up the track.
Hope all is well,

ParticipantThat’s what we are kind of hoping to do with Roman down the road.
A good local facility would definitely influence that decision.
Other than the last few years, most of my racing experience has been in road racing and much of it driving Superkarts. I think Roman would benefit from that and love turning in at 100mph!!! :co :~
I know I did.

ParticipantSure looks like it would be fun in a kart.
