    Jim,

I sort of remember Roger. He was in a different class than me, so never got to know him much. I do remember that he was always in the top group. Tag masters is the best-if you want to be the best you go to beat the best–maybe someday I will get there.

You know when you are the oldest guy (61) racing in CO karting one does get breaks now and again. ……….not for you young things though!

Consider this off season humor and Jansen doesn’t need to reply as we all know he is old and slow… lol… Kidding Mike… Would be great to race you someday as I never have. ha.ha.

    SILENCE!!!
    I KEEEEEEEEL YOU!!!

Roger, Last season was Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, a disaster. I enjoyed the time off and I’ll be back in 09 with a vengance. I’ve put on my holiday 5 already (I almost hurled) and another 5 to go before January. But once father time exits on the 31st I’ll be running and testing. I’d love to see you and Falcone get into the fray in Masters.

By the way, It’s spelled JANSEN.
You’ll be seeing that a lot on the back of my suit  :usa:

And the front says MIKE..you’ll need that info for when he spins in front of you and ends up facing traffic.

I have a feeling this is Jansen’s new tagline: Funny.

I am forcasting 2009 will be a great year. I am still deciding on what class to run (maybe DD2) but I can assure you that I am starting to get ready for 09 right now as slow guys (such as me) have to work twice as hard to get faster. Good to see everyone has such a positive outlook for next year. The banquet is happening as I type this and congratz to all that raced last year. Last years racing looked amazing from the results I have looked at. If you think this year was freaking cool, wait until next year, I think it will be even better. Jansen, you had better start getting ready also… See you at The Track…

    Roger,

Here’s my training on Saturdays (weather permitting)
This starts come January (because I’m currently grazing my way to economic recovery!)

½ to 1 mile jog warm up
Stairs to the bottom of Red Rocks Theater
Circuit: pushups, pull-ups, squat thrust, repeat again and again and again and again
    Lung twist across the seats
    Dips, dips and more dips
    Mary Catherine’s, more dips
    Decline pushups, dips
    Mary Catherine’s, more dips
    Jump seat levels eight times
    Run four rows of seat
    Jump seat level eight times
Take your first break…. You get the picture
    Throw up

After you make your way to the top doing the above, proceed to upper body band work for 15 minutes
After band work…20 minute of Plyometrics
    After Plyo…stretch…. Throw Up
Everything was sore Sunday (and today).

The body will be ready and so will the kart… 8)

Thanks Mike but here is my plan for gettin into shape… OH YEA… Get ready……

Mon-30 min weights with 30 sec. rests between sets (chest & triceps), then stretching
Tue-2 mile sprint with break at 1 mile for 100 pushups and 50 pullups
Wed-30 min weights with 30 sec. rests between sets (biceps and back), then stretching
Thur-100 meter intervals (for 2 miles) with 50 meter walk between and 25 pushups and 50 crunches during walk
Fri-30 min weights with 30 sec. rests between sets (shoulders and legs), then streching
Sat-4 mile run steady pace or 20 mile bike ride, break 1/2 way with either for 100 pushups and 100 crunches
    Sun-day off with some 12 oz curls…

If you don’t think being in shape is critical in winning races, I would think again… I don’t know of many races that have been won from someone that is totally out of shape…. My personal opinion is that it seriously helps and now is a good time to start… This workout is very basic and can become much more intensive… Get out there and do something…

    Roger,

Hey I like yours better and I wouldn’t even have to drive to Red Rocks!
Seriously, I’m going to take your workout during the weekday mornings, just a minimal amount of rest is all that is needed or none at all and do another muscle group.

Here’s a good one I do on Wednesday mornings: Jumps. At the gym look for the girls step thingamajigs and start adding underneath till you get to 11-13 levels underneath. Start with 15 jumps and the hgher you go then you drop to 10 jumps. You’ll feel like hurling but then think of the bright side: then you can get that donut at Krispy Kreme 8)

I can’t wait for the season to start. Y’all might want to get in shape to the best of your abilities. Like Roger said being in shape IS part of the equasion. Except for Juan Pablo and Tony Stewart everyone else is in shape and those two aren’t slugs by any means… Oh, that’s right they race NAKKER now…

That’s Slackee to you Mr. Magoo…

I’m not pushing away from any food at the moment and wait till this weekend when i get the half gallon glass bottle of Egg Nogg from the local Dairy. Then I’ll have to start wearing my generous cut pants. And NO amount of exercise will rid the body of Egg Nogg. 8)

You two must be gorillas!! 100 push ups? I’m struggling to get past 10. On the other hand, 100 crunches, not a problem.

Last year at this time, I weighed in at 250#. This morning I was 190#. Ive managed to maintain this weight for about 6 months now but…..

Its a lot of hard work.

Each morning I get up at 5:00 and work out for about an hour to this guy
    http://shopping.discovery.com/product-66312.html
I also try to walk about 4 miles but that’s hard to do with the foul weather and long work hours. In the summer it was easy to get it done but now, I got to use the hamster wheel and that is boring!!!!!!

These next few weeks suck. With having to live with a woman who is a fantastic cook and baker, its going to be rough. This weekend she made all kinds of cookies and candy and its laying every where around the house. I gain weight just walking through the room.
