ParticipantJim,
Thanks for the offer to ?fix it? but I?ve been told that I ?have no voice in the matter.? :idn:
Again, I don?t mean any offense at anybody. I?m just an enthusiastic Colorado karter who can?t help but chuckle at the situation. I have no vested interest in SKUSA, TAG USA, CSC, or any kart/engine related business. I guess that is why it is easy for me to just sit back an laugh at all this. 😆 I do clearly remember earlier in the year when the decision was made (very late if not last minute) to go with a national sponsoring organization largely because it would provide a rule book that would be enforced to the letter. I find it ironic that the rule book is being ignored in this situation. Nothing serious, just funny as hell.

ParticipantWow! This is esactly why I stayed out of the CSC this year. You couldn’t help but know that the last minute decision to go with SKUSA would not solve the controversies and that new ones would emerge. Translation – pay more money so we can trade one set of issues for another.
I guess, “As a matter of rule, we will follow TAG USA 100% for this year on all matters concerning engine rules.” meant only until it doesn’t suit somebody in power.
Frankly, the arguements posted here for changing the rules (deciding now to not follow TAG USA 100%) are very, very weak. No offense intended but it smells fishy. It makes you wonder if Sonik and SKUSA are in bed together or if the “change the rules” guys (Joe and Jim) personally run Sonik motors.

ParticipantIf you decide to go the Leopard route, I can help you out if you want to save some dollars. I am new to karting this year and enjoying it immesely with my son. I bought a Tag last fall with a Leopard and then a Jr Rotax package for my son shorthly thereafter. For a variety of reasons we decided to go with the RMAX series which means he races and I watch. We do get to practice together though. While, I love the Leopard (broad powerband, fast at all the CO tracks and you don’t have to recharge the battery every time out!) I am considering replacing it with a Rotax so I can complete in the same series with my son. It will also allow me to chase some of those other grey hair Rotax master guys.
If you’re interested I’ll come up with a fair price. The engine was brand new last year and now has about 8 or 9 hours on it.

Participant…and what a race that was. You could have thrown a blanket over the two of you thoughout the race! Congrats on the win! It was well earned.

Participant“Cure baldness – Wear a helmet”

ParticipantI saw that. Strange though, it appears to have been translated correctly in French and German.

ParticipantThat’s because we all had our helmets on!!
Good thing, because some of the drivers were really flying out there.

ParticipantThanks George for hosting the Open House at CRE this weekend. We had a great time out there. Good track, scenic location, friendly people. CRE is a first class operation. It is clear you and everyone we met at the track have a big passion for racing! Keep it up.
BTW, I didn’t see a set of horns on anyone I met there. 😀

ParticipantWow. Excellent elaboration and insight Doug. You can hear the voice of experience in those words. You probably have Adam’s head spinning, just like in his post.

ParticipantI feel similar to Rich. If it is possible (legal) to run both events together I’m all for it. Racing is more fun with more karts. It doesn’t bother me that some karts are scored differently and may impact the final results. I would rather have an epic battle with someone even with the potential for a dnf than simply circle the track and get easy points. Let’s race.

ParticipantHe is improving steadily – something I haven’t been able to do yet. He is still stoked that he posted a faster lap time than his dad! Ouch, that hurts. I’m going to have to start adding extra lead to his kart and put some of Doug’s tricks into mine. Thanks again for all the “extra mile” help you guys provide.

ParticipantI’d like to add my appreciation as well. Thanks to Doug and Greg for their generous offer of help. The knowledge they shared obviously comes from years of track experience. And thanks to the Cooks for continuing their first class operation. Scheduleing things like this really help us new guys feel welcomed and a part of the karting community. I’ll probably forget more than I learned but I can tell you this – Jesse and I had a great time!

ParticipantI don’t know if George can respond. I heard (maybe a rumor) that his access to reply to posts on this site has been removed. If true, it is very troublesome that a Colorado kart track owner isn’t allowed to communicate on a public forum for Colorado karters. Perhaps Angie can verify if this is a rumor or not.
