ParticipantLet’s be straight forward here guys when TTAC and IMI had the falling out it killed colorado racing. We need to get back to the mentality of what the racers want because really we don’t race for the money and those on a tight budget can’t buy a new engine every year to support the changing programs. If we want the big numbers back here’s what needs to happen. The tracks and series need to work together, Period. Until it happens we’re screwed.
Simple fix:
Go back to mixing TAG and Rotax. With one exception, the TAG classes need to run Mojo’s. Rotax guys get to qualify and get to compete on an even level at the club level. Oh and didn’t CRE fail because it was a Rotax only track and car count sucked.Shifters- These classes are fueled by the TAG classes so until we get those number up the shifter count will stay down.
TAG=entry level/ smaller budget
Shifter=experienced drivers looking for more of a challenge/ bigger parts wear/higher speeds/ bigger budgetIf a guys who has only been in the sport for a few years can see the problems why can’t those in charge. And by the way series operators, running a regional program at one track with one special event at a different location basicly makes your series a club series with a larger cost.

ParticipantWe generally run around a 10/77 in Tag Masters. I would imagine Seniors are around a 10/74. We run about 10.5psi in the fronts and 11.5psi in the rears. But again we are at 390lbs and senior is 360lbs.

ParticipantWhat class??

ParticipantCount me in. We weren’t planning on running but I managed to pick up a ton of extra hours at work over the last month. Should be fun.

ParticipantFor a Leopard in Tag Masters we run a 11/77 at IMI and 10/77 at TTAC. I would imagine the Juniors and seniors are running a little taller.

ParticipantMaybe The Track should change that and go uphill the first race. Being that turn one can be a little tricky going downhill especially with all the new guys.

ParticipantThanks Jim.

ParticipantWhat will the friday schedule be like for those wanting to practice? I image we will be running uphill saturday and downhill sunday, is my assumption correct?

ParticipantHey Tim we ran leopards in the Masters class last year and managed to hold our own. It seemed like we were a little quicker at the track than the rotax guys and a little slower at IMI. I was the only leopard guy in the top five in club points. I believe the rest ran the rotax. We blew 2 motors last year. One had 12 hours on it and the other had 17 hours. We ran them at around 15500 to 16000 max rpm.
We did manage to win twice in our first year though. We discussed a few times selling one of our leopards and buying a rotax. The upkeep on the leopard is a little expensive compared to the rotax. Also the leopard has issues with the brushes in the starter so we have been replacing the brushes every 2 races whether it needs it or not. It sucks getting to the starting grid and not being able to get the thing started. We also broke two exhaust headers last year.Overall I am happy with the performance of the Leopard and they are extremely easy to tune. The only downfall is the upkeep you have to stay on top of it or you can plan on breaking down.

ParticipantNo problem guys, I had it all made up I figured I’d share.
Rodney, If you can get me those schedules I’ll add them. I just took the ones that were posted on here.
Angel, The schedule really isn’t that much different from last year. There’s 4 extra races from last year(Racing the Rockies) and if you run all the club races at both tracks(6 each, 1 drop each, same as last year) you have 2 chances at winning a championship. The only deal with splitting the club race series up is that guys won’t feel required to run at one track or the other.

ParticipantTAG Masters still open to 200+ guys???

ParticipantWhat type of brakes do you have and what is the problem you are experiencing with them, such as is all the air out of the system etc. As far as getting the tire on the rim. I usually place the tire on the floor them push the shallow side of the wheel(Usually the side opposite the valve stem). It might take quite a bit of force and turning the wheel as you put it on helps.. If you have any other questions throw them out here and someone should be able to help.
