Im gonna take a stab in the dark here, but Im just wondering if the problem that Mike is describing the number of new post notifications we get every time we log in. Maybe Mike and Doug are actually having this problem in their “Message” folders, but its happening to me in the new posts notifications.

    I could be wrong.

    Brian,
There is one video of the masters race that shows 2 drivers getting dumped on the front straight at the greeen and just sitting backwards while karts split him.

    Jordan,

From an unbiased pov (I raced an ITALKART chassis when I did race, and have friends that race both karts)

Both are karts that have great reputations around the world of karting. But Im guessing that your not planning on competing in the upcoming CKI season (if there is a CKI) next year.
Your looking to race and compete locally here in Colorado, so heres a little info on the 2 frames here in Colorado.

The Birel is supported by Dog House Racing at the Track at Centennial. DHR has something like 15 plus drivers on the red Birel chassis. Ben S took his Birel kart this year and won the Pepsi Center race in TaG Sr, and I believe he won the championship in the same class in the Race the Rockies series.

The G.P is easily the most raced chassis on any given raceday in Colorado, excluding the Colorado Junior Karting club series. G.P is maintained and supported in Colorado by AJ Noud and Rocky mt Kartworks. G.P competes at the most races in Colorado so you’ll have AJ and the team at any event your at.

Both are great kart’s, and in a perfect world with an unlimited bank account, I can say it wouldn’t be an easy choice for me to make as which kart I would put my butt in.

Good luck with your selection, Im sure you’ll be happy with what ever you choose, until you see the bill…… 😆

    Best

Great point about Rich. He did have some what of that elder statesman of karting here in Colorado role.

I dont think anyone here could really disagree with you assuming that role. I know I cant.

But just remember that Rich was a thorn in ALL track owners sides… ALL of them….

Is it gettin fiesty in here or is it just me 😉

Gee wiz Gunter, for some one who has said times and times before that you don’t care about the stuff in the forums, and being against posting in them, your key board has been on fire as of late.
Btw, way to keep your posts positive!!

    Cheers

Eric brings up a great point as well. Lets not forget how this tragedy effects the Jacobellis family; the owners of the CJKC, and the Cook family.

My thoughts are with you both.

I was on a flight back from LA this morning when I received the news of the accident. As Im still in shock of the news, my deepest condolences and prayers go out to the Duncan family. I can not begin to fathom what they must be feeling now.

The Colorado karting community mourns the loss of a great competitor.

    God speed Tabor.

The first round of heat races are completed.

The Colorado Kids, Mike McDonough and Dave Conyers have both had great runs.
The heats started out with S4, Mike’s class. With the track still ‘damp’ Mike was the only S4 who elected to race with slick tires. The gamble paid off in the end. Mike drove his #84 from 6th to 2nd in 8 laps.

Dave Conyers held a solid second and had a clean for his first heat race.

In S2 SKUSA newcomer Jack Bradley leads the Colorado racers with a 7th place finish. Two spots back in 9th was GP racer Logan Jones, with Anthony G in his CRG 10th. With several laps left in their heat Cory Milne backed his kart in to the fence in the T15 hairpin.

S5, Christian Schureman took off from his P2 starting spot to take the lead early on, while an emotionally driven Austin Schimmel drove with a passion from th back. Austin quickly caught, and made quick work of his team mate for the lead, and the win. Christian fell to 3rd at the checkers.

At the start of the cadets 1st hear, Tate couldnt get the plug clean and was never able to start the race.

Round 2 of heats are up in 20 min.

Qualifying is in the books, and it looks like the rain is too.

Mike McDonough slotted his #84 6th is S4

In S2 Jack Bradley was the quickest Colorado’n putting his Birel 6th overall. Cory Milne and Anthony G are 10th and 11th.

Christian Schureman puts his #17 in P2 with Schimmel sitting in 7th for heat #1.

Dave Conyers just ran down the 3rd fastest lap in G1.

And struggles yesterday for Tate Holleran are gone, as Tate slots his entry in to second in TaG Cadet.

    Heat race’s are next.

5 minutes in to S2 qualifying and a large storm cell has just moved over us, forcing a red/black.

As Im typing this, the heavy rain that ceased qualifying has just stopped, and race directors are discussing sending karts back out on the track.

Weather here is almost as wild as Colorado!

Ill get qualifying results up soon.

Good Morning from Shawano day #2.

At the track, its just after 8 AM, and SKUSA Race director Steve Bukcner has declared the track a wet racetrack for today’s race.

Practice is underway, with one qual, two heats and a final are on todays schedule. IF WEATHER ALLOWS. 😕

    Long day at the track!

Flat out great racing today in all classes.

The Colorado contingent has been working hard on race day 1 in the premier of the SKUSA Summer Nats.

Christian Schureman has a great day in S5, and catches up to a dominant Austin Schimmel. Looked like a RM kartworks 1-2 with 2 to go, then Austin broke with 1 1/2 laps left. Terrible luck, but Austin will be back tomorrow!

Mike McDonough, solid run all day in S4. Comes home in 5th in the final, but a miscommunication at tech dropped Mike to last in S4.

Doc Conyers came home 4th I belive in G1.

In S2, Cory Milne got 3rd, while Jack had a surge late in the main, and Anthony seemed to have mechanical issues at the end of the main, causing significant drop off.

Tate has been in a little world of his own all weekend. Off the pace in practice on friday, middle of the pack today in the heats. Then was left all alone in the main. Tomorrow will be better for Tate.

Time for dinner, then bed! If I can get wifi tomorrow ill try to update.
