ParticipantLong day at the track!
Flat out great racing today in all classes.
The Colorado contingent has been working hard on race day 1 in the premier of the SKUSA Summer Nats.
Christian Schureman has a great day in S5, and catches up to a dominant Austin Schimmel. Looked like a RM kartworks 1-2 with 2 to go, then Austin broke with 1 1/2 laps left. Terrible luck, but Austin will be back tomorrow!
Mike McDonough, solid run all day in S4. Comes home in 5th in the final, but a miscommunication at tech dropped Mike to last in S4.
Doc Conyers came home 4th I belive in G1.
In S2, Cory Milne got 3rd, while Jack had a surge late in the main, and Anthony seemed to have mechanical issues at the end of the main, causing significant drop off.
Tate has been in a little world of his own all weekend. Off the pace in practice on friday, middle of the pack today in the heats. Then was left all alone in the main. Tomorrow will be better for Tate.
Time for dinner, then bed! If I can get wifi tomorrow ill try to update.

ParticipantGood Morning from Shawano day #2.
At the track, its just after 8 AM, and SKUSA Race director Steve Bukcner has declared the track a wet racetrack for today’s race.
Practice is underway, with one qual, two heats and a final are on todays schedule. IF WEATHER ALLOWS. 😕

Participant5 minutes in to S2 qualifying and a large storm cell has just moved over us, forcing a red/black.
As Im typing this, the heavy rain that ceased qualifying has just stopped, and race directors are discussing sending karts back out on the track.
Weather here is almost as wild as Colorado!
Ill get qualifying results up soon.

ParticipantQualifying is in the books, and it looks like the rain is too.
Mike McDonough slotted his #84 6th is S4
In S2 Jack Bradley was the quickest Colorado’n putting his Birel 6th overall. Cory Milne and Anthony G are 10th and 11th.
Christian Schureman puts his #17 in P2 with Schimmel sitting in 7th for heat #1.
Dave Conyers just ran down the 3rd fastest lap in G1.
And struggles yesterday for Tate Holleran are gone, as Tate slots his entry in to second in TaG Cadet.
Heat race’s are next.

ParticipantThe first round of heat races are completed.
The Colorado Kids, Mike McDonough and Dave Conyers have both had great runs.
The heats started out with S4, Mike’s class. With the track still ‘damp’ Mike was the only S4 who elected to race with slick tires. The gamble paid off in the end. Mike drove his #84 from 6th to 2nd in 8 laps.Dave Conyers held a solid second and had a clean for his first heat race.
In S2 SKUSA newcomer Jack Bradley leads the Colorado racers with a 7th place finish. Two spots back in 9th was GP racer Logan Jones, with Anthony G in his CRG 10th. With several laps left in their heat Cory Milne backed his kart in to the fence in the T15 hairpin.
S5, Christian Schureman took off from his P2 starting spot to take the lead early on, while an emotionally driven Austin Schimmel drove with a passion from th back. Austin quickly caught, and made quick work of his team mate for the lead, and the win. Christian fell to 3rd at the checkers.
At the start of the cadets 1st hear, Tate couldnt get the plug clean and was never able to start the race.
Round 2 of heats are up in 20 min.
