ParticipantThat’ll work Richie. Thank you so much for participation!
This Rbi / FR 125 package is coming together and looking great. You components are much appreciated topping off the project. Some of us have been talking and we hope you catch the bug again and come out and play. We even thought about putting you in a 125 Masters, just to send Cunningham home crying. 😥
Thanks again Richie,
Rick

ParticipantSorry Craig,
Started my post and walked away for a bit. Did not know you were thanking Greg at the same time. Good point about learning to do it right from someones experiences.
Also, a big thanks goes out to John Crow http://www.crowenterprizes.com/ for not hesitating to offer product for the 500 gathering. John is currently one of the best kart racers in the country who strikes fear into any racer sitting on a grid with him. You beat him, you’ve beat the best. John is just one hell of a great guy! He and his Dad own a racing safety gear company.
Racers, please support the businesses who support us.
Thanks again John!

ParticipantWell Racers,
Another great offer to help Bob.
Greg Welch from Shockwave / Karting Coach has offered a driver coaching day. Greg has an impressive resume in karting to say the least. Those of you who have not spent time around Greg, or have not been to the Shockwave http://www.shockwavekarting.com/ seminars. Greg has an intense knowledge in chassis and driving. He also has a very patient delivery of his knowledge.
You would gain a great deal from his services and I have to tell you, I witnessed him working with Kid Karters in a group environment and he really is very good at working with children as well as adults. Check out the website http://www.kartingcoach.com/ for more information on his services.
The Welch family has really stepped up for this cause. People are really seeing what great members of the karting community you are!
Thank you very much Greg!
Also thanks for the motor mount Doug!
Man, we’re getting some great items to win. I’m excited!

ParticipantI know. It’s tough when you have to pick your battles. Any one of those offerings would be cool to add to your 2008 effort. Come bid, might slide into something for a very good price. Or just come hang out and we’ll bench race. Roman, Lucy and I are looking forward to spending time with people we see when we are so busy at the track. This will be so laid back, you don’t need to spend money to do this. Just go have fun.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH JIM!!!!!
Talk about your low blows brother.
For those of you who dont know the whole story, I’ll be kind enough to break it down for you.
I was out at The Track 2 weeks ago testing (more or less just shaking the dust off), when towards the end of the day I pulled up to the grid in my Acme Auto radiator, 1st Bank, Becks Buliding care sponsored ITALKART SUPERSONIC chassis powered by My Rotax FR125, when I saw that the track had but two rentals on it, I preceeded to ask Mr. Keesling if it was all clear for me to head on to the racing surface, and told him I would be carefull around the rentals. Mr. Keesling allowed me to head out. About 10 to 11 laps in to this session Mr. Keesling waved a young boy driving a rental kart in to the pits, he lowered down to the boys helmet and whispered somthing in his ear, of course I have no idea what he said, i just saw the 2 talking as I went by in my Acme Auto radiator, 1st Bank, Becks Buliding care sponsored ITALKART SUPERSONIC chassis powered by My Rotax FR125. A lap later as I was attempting to pass said rental in the ledges, I was dileberatley wrecked, and axle bented.
It is now clear to me what Mr. Keesling said to the young rental driver.
I just feel bad for the young boy in the rental kart, having to go out and do Jim’s dirty work for him.
Tisk, TiskThe end.
Tony,
You really need to be more careful when a rental is lapping your ” Acme Auto radiator, 1st Bank, Becks Buliding care sponsored ITALKART SUPERSONIC chassis powered by My Rotax FR125 fully illuminated chromium plated triple swivel green fog lure special. Just wave them by. 😉
Jim was simply telling him to be careful for the newby!

ParticipantCome to the Bob Reed benefit and win the “dyno time” being donated by Billet Performance. You could walk out of there with a very good handle on tuning your new monster.

ParticipantBig thanks go out to Billet Performance for kicking in some swag for the raffle, and for the donation of of dyno time. This will be a very sought after auction item. Very cool.
Have you seen that place and his equipment? It’s very impressive! You could eat off the floor, it’s so clean. Barry is in a different mode around the shop too, stop by some time and check it. Don’t be deterred by Barry’s track side intensity. He is a very focused individual who is there to help his customers excel. And is always thinking. Around the shop, he’s pretty laid back.
http://www.billetperformancekarting.com/
He is the best engine builder / tuner in the rocky mountain region by far. Tap into his experience with a one hour session and walk away with information that you will never get at the track. He also has a very organized, full service shop.
Want to help your program? Go see Barry.
Thanks Billet!

ParticipantGeorge at CRE has also offered items for the auction. Thanks for the helmets George!
We will make it a point to make it to your facility this year. We’ve never been there with all the offerings available up north. But Roman could use the seat time at your very technical circuit. We will make a point to support you in some way this year, even if it’s a grueling track day and hanging out with you. You didn’t have to do that, but thanks George.

Also,
The Latin contingent will be bringing an artist to the party to perform caricatures. (you are such a cool family) He will be there for 3 hours or so. Come get a very cool sketch of yourself. He will work with all proceeds going to the Reeds. How cool is that? You may consider bringing your helmet to be included in the drawing. He is also willing to perform these prior to the event, if you have a good photo, get with Eduardo, or one of the boys to get this very cool offering performed before the event. I really envy artist who can interpret your character and deliver their impression of you in a drawing. Take advantage of this. We will!
Also,
The offering from Jim and the Team at the Track at Centennial. This would be a very good opportunity to take your workers out for some team building. And have an opportunity to compete and get to know one another away from the work place. Money well spent? Yea.
We would bring the Team from Gunslingers Jim, but I would hate to be permanently 86’d from your racing facility. Don’t ask me how I know this!!!
Thanks again Jim!
Your helmet will look great, your karts may not fair as well! Thanks for the support.

ParticipantRacers,
I sent my wife shopping with “X” amount of money. She got a lot of really cool items to raffle for the kids! I’m a little jealous, but the kids will have their own raffle. Looks like will have a high quality, mini mountain bike being offered as well as some super cool things for the kids to win!(sorry, I’ve been playing with them tonight!) If any of you don’t feel you’re in a position to to bid on an auction item. Buy a toy or kids video or something you think a kid would like. It would be very useful for the fund raiser. It does not have to be expensive, just something. We’ll add it to the raffle.
If some of the items coming down the road, don’t keep the children at the gathering engaged, I’ll be very surprised.
Also, Craig and I are assembling a very nice kart. (I think we could run up front on this damn thing) but need a Rotax motor mount. Looks like it has a 32 – 92 spacing and can not have a deep sump type machining on the bracket.(for lack of a better description) We found interference with a cross tube. We need a mount that mounts on top of the rails (ala Shockwave or ?) and does not drop below the top of the tubing, between the front and rear contact points. Do you have anything?
Richie has a new sticker package and set of wheels coming from the west slope for this unit. And you know something? Richie has had some heated on track battles with the Reed family. Off the track, he is poised to help with the heart of a brother, thanks Richie. Hopefully, there will be more battles in the future. In my mind, the saying “wide open till you see God, then brake” was written for you Richie. Thanks again and sorry for mis spelling your name in my previous post, I was tired.
Late,
Rick

ParticipantBig thanks to Richard and Kelly Buxman for donating a graphics kit and set of wheels for the Kart being built auctioned.
This thing is going to be cool! The kart is in great shape, remember this was Marc Elliott’s Pro Shifter, Rbi Ar-2 chassis. The Elliott’s don’t do anything half way and this kart is no exception. It has some high end features like a balanced rear rotor and hub assembly. And is a low mile unit. Craig and I will be assembling this machine tomorrow. We’ll post photo’s when done.
Thanks again to the engine donor (who has requested to remain anonymous) and the Elliott’s for the chassis donation.

ParticipantRacers,
Helmet slowing you down?
If you would like some high end end custom graphics on your lid. I will personally donate a week of every spare moment I have, to making your helmet look great. Yes, I come out of retirement every once in a while to lay one down. And I will disassemble your helmet, new or used, repair chips if not new, apply a scheme to your liking, and if needed procure a seal kit (this typically cost an extra $35 – $50 & I’ll eat the cost) to reassemble the “new look” lid, making you look clean and fast! I use the best materials money can buy, you won’t be disappointed!
If you point some money Bob’s direction, I’ll make your helmet rock!
I’ve seen some pretty blah looking lids out there. You’ll never get to the front looking like that!
This should be good for 2-3 tenths a lap.
I have no idea what to state as a value. I’ve painted helmets for $300, I’ve painted helmets for 2k. Just help Bob and I’ll make you look good!
