Outstanding weekend at GJMS. My first time there and I had a blast. I can’t believe how good the track is – kept squeeky clean and very fun and challenging.

10 shifters made it the best attended shifter class I’ve seen all year (other than SKUSA events). Made for some exciting moments.

Looking forward to attending more races over the hill next year. I just hope my radiator didn’t burst heading over the pass…

I sped past the Dempster crew somewhere near Vail. It was the only way I had a chance to do so..

Any head counts on number of shifters yet? I hope we have a great race for the end of the season!

I’m driving out for the race too. Should be a great weekend. Cross your fingers that the weather is good.

I was out there just over the weekend. It rained like there was no tomorrow.

I agree with what Russ is saying about rentals. I think there are plenty of people who’d be up for arrive and drive using rentals as the platform. We need to get peoples butts in the seats of the karts to hook and reel them in!

As far as the difficulties getting into racing goes.. I feel exactly how Russ feels. You’ve got to be pretty stubborn about it and get in there and figure it out for yourself. There are no manuals or how-to’s for all of this. It’s trial and a lot of error.

ONE large ACTIVE club would do the trick. We need to get to and stick to a level playing field for everyone in the state.

This same discussion is (nearly always) going on over in ekartingnews.

I’d throw in the idea that people aren’t connected to cars like they used to. Time was you had to work on your car to keep it running. Now in this age everyone is too busy playing video games or watching crap on youtube. I know I watch my share…

There is absolutely nothing that can be done about that. And I don’t think there is much for us as individuals to do to grab the attention of other folks and push them into karting.

There.. how freakin’ unproductive was that..

I do know that every person I know is well aware of my karting obsession and I routinely promote my karting love to EVERY person I meet. So far I have sold exactly ZERO people on the idea..

How did the race go? Did it pour down rain the whole time?

I most certainly will be back to race next year (shifter) at IMI and TTAC.

ANGEL! WHY ARE YOU YELLING YOUR WORDS? Is your caps lock on?

So can anyone else verify or explain what Angel is saying? Why would pouring water on tires after a heat cycle improve their lifespan?

People always come up to me in the pits during races and ask all kinds of questions. Number one question: How much do tires cost? and then, how long do they last..

Unless we don’t start getting someone making smart decisions about limiting tire compounds (to limit cost), then we are all crazy. 225 bucks for tires that last about 2 days. I do it, I love it, but I not blind to the grimaces I get from people when I answer them..

That’s no joke. Three day event would cost 170+50+212+212+20+50(skusa lic. fee)+20(pit fee) = $734 bucks.

And you have to consider gas and the tires needed for Friday practice. That’s about 1000 for the weekend.

I’m being negative here, but, wow.

Scott – As this is a Skusa race, can people just show up and pay the various fees that morning? Or is it a more involved process?

Just curious – about how much are the fees?

I would add that 3 races is barely enough to wet the appetite. Next year I’d like to see 4-5 races at IMI.

Heck yeah! We had a lot of shifters and some of the best racing of the season. Norbert took the lead from X-man and never gave up!

    Tag had great numbers too!

One more question: What direction do you run the track?
