I’m happy with the ckt class structure. I’ll be #25 over but it will still be fun, and since I’m a terrible driver I’ll just be racing with the heavier group on track. It’s like a golf handicap. And we are there to race not collect trophies so at the end of the day as long as everyone has fun then it’s all good. :banana

Last season some of the most fun racing I had was with some of the heavy guys. Inter class battles are part of the fun! But again this goes back to me being a terrible driver who spends all of his race budget on his graphics and ends up running the same set of tires for two seasons. But I’m pretty sure I look cooler than you on track! :redman just kidding, I’m sure you look fine. :white

I think it’s easier to have a single weight class in cars since the driver weighs a fraction of what the car weighs. I weigh 10 pounds more than my kart… Throws off the power to weight ratio a lot quicker when a kart racer gains 5-10 pounds.

I hear Helmut Marko only looks to the light classes when he picks the next drivers for the redbull jr team. So that narrows it down for me.

I will only race if I’m guaranteed a participation award. Final offer.

Support your local race shop brother!

I bought my set last year from Unser but couldn’t remember exactly how much I had paid for them. Greg also sells a matched set which is nice!

$210 for mgs (two sets minimum)=$420
$100 for duros (one set all season)=$100

When you have multiple expensive hobbies the extra $300 on top of entry fees can be a deal breaker.

I too, have been trying to drum up interest in LO206. I even posted an ad with info on C/L. Got one guy into it by selling him my old kart for a great price. Talk about no interest, we only had 5 total karts at GJMS with me and my son included. I hope this series will help get more into it. Anything that will bring numbers up would be great!

I had planned on traveling this summer to race with you guys, but the switch to mg reds put a stop to that idea… 🙁

I used one set of tires last year and I made half the races and the tires barely have any wear on them. I plan to use the rest of the rubber up this year. I had contemplated running the mg series but there are 8 race days which makes it similar to the cjkc, no? Two sets (conservative estimate) of mgs puts me at $450 just in tires and I’m not fast enough to be getting sponsored… I guess what I’m getting at is I’ll be racing a few races with cjkc in the lite class and just try to enjoy myself while I’m at it 🙂 I better get working on losing a few pounds!
