ParticipantSince all three classes are in the same race, well, it really shouldn’t matter how many classes there are, the fun is in the race? No? Plus better odds of being on the podium. Anyway, if someone can get away without any weights, I would think that would perform better and more efficiently, so I don’t think it is laziness at all, but having a better ride. Seems like way more benefits to more classes – as long as all classes race together.
(This is Gia, not Norbert, but I learned everything from him, at least the gokart parts 🙂 )

Getting a podium spot because there are more options (9) total. Which means 9 people out of 15 could get a podium. That doesn’t sound like true racing. Formula 1, nascar, any other racing has 3 podium spots. Sounds like we are going back to kids t-ball where everyone got a participation record. lol
I mean don’t get me wrong each are here to have fun. But I am also here to win races and prove to myself that I can race just as fast as the top people in the nation. Rotax is too expensive so LO 206 is where it’s at. We have people that have been in national events and ranked well, so if I can race with them I know I am on “par” with them. Having more than 1 class separates these “fast” guys and allows everyone to “win” but really they don’t win. They just are faster in their class.
The true racers are ones that can overcome their limit. In order to overcome it racing people faster forces you to push that limit. My signature says a lot about how I want to race. And look who it is. He didn’t race in a 3 class event. He raced in 1 class events and WON them all. lol Isn’t that what we are trying to do here?
In regards to how slow these things are. If you don’t like how sluggish or what not they are at the 360 weight or higher or just can’t get the spunk out of it that you would like. I recommend Rotax 😉 I mean this engine/package is meant to be cheap slow, sluggish, and all about momentum. It is a drivers kart. You can be good at it but in order to be fast you have to be consistent and relaxed. Now, now, I am not saying Rotax isn’t those things or that it is any less difficult. It has it’s own challenges. What I am saying is I think we are trying to make this kart do things that it is not meant to do.
If you all have checked out my links to youtube that show events where you can see some great races their fields are HUGH and all one weight class. Bumper to bumper racing the entire race. 3 classes I am lapping the heavies after like 15 laps. Never see lap traffic in those big races with 1 weight class. And here I am trying to just get 2. lol

ParticipantWow, it seems people removed their own posts. That is a bummer. Re-reading all this like I said I would I really don’t see where I was being disrespectful or trying to take over the class structure. I thought I was having a friendly debate with people. Every post that I made was giving examples of others that have 1 weight class or two. Isn’t a debate where you hear both side and try to get your points out by showing facts and examples? I read my posts as that is what I was doing. If that isn’t what people took from this post I am sorry. Just a friendly debate until Eddy said I was cheating. That is when I got upset but that was only one post. It seems Eddy removed his posts. 🙁 Though, I did quote him to see what he said before he removed them.

ParticipantMy son and I will be running in the 325 class at GJMS. We are both right at that weight when the full is gone. Don’t want to have to bolt a ton of weigh on either kart, so light it is.
