ParticipantJust curious if any of the Colorado tracks are going to stick with duro tires for club racing? I am bummed that GJMS has switched to mg reds for their club racing, I was planning to make the trek over the mountains to race with them as I have family over there. Looks like the Lo206 class is moving away from the “economical” aspect that it started with here in Colorado. I do appreciate that cjkc has stuck with the duros.
Guess you can’t make everyone happy. 🙂

How much did you spend on tires last year? Did you run the full season? Have you raced other tires like the MG reds? By what I have been told they last a while. Last year at The Track I went through two sets of fronts and 1 set of rears. There are less races with the MG series. Which means less runs on those tires. I have also seen on here that there might be tire scholarships and what not.
Though, I will be running as many races as I can. Planning on running in cjkc and MG series. Just trying to determine what class everyone is going in as I just want to race with the fast guys 😉 I remember you are one of those fast guys! Would love to see you out for all the races if you can make it out. Loved the battles we had!

ParticipantI used one set of tires last year and I made half the races and the tires barely have any wear on them. I plan to use the rest of the rubber up this year. I had contemplated running the mg series but there are 8 race days which makes it similar to the cjkc, no? Two sets (conservative estimate) of mgs puts me at $450 just in tires and I’m not fast enough to be getting sponsored… I guess what I’m getting at is I’ll be racing a few races with cjkc in the lite class and just try to enjoy myself while I’m at it 🙂 I better get working on losing a few pounds!
