ParticipantDid you search Amazon.com? I know they have 2 stroke books.
If you want a good tuning book and if you you are ICC or Rotax or just running a Dell’Orto carb then the Dell’Orto Primer from Green Flag Motorsports @ http://www.greenflag.net/ is a real good book.
Here are a couple URLs I found when I Googled “2 stroke engine theory:”

Joe Janowski Named CEO of Superkarts! USASuperkarts! USA announced today that Joe Janowski, son of founder and interim CEO Don Janowski and well known SuperPro, took the reins of the organization effective May 10, 2004. The 31 year old Janowski has been involved in the five month internal restructuring of SKUSA. ?When my father Don had to get involved with SKUSA again early this year as an interim CEO, he asked me to assist in the effort. While SKUSA was in bad shape at the time, we knew that it was still a great company, with a great product and great customers. I was doing most of the investigative phone work, so it seemed as though everyone thought I was leading the charge. Now the buck really does stop with me,? Joe Janowski explained.
?I was an instrumental part of Superkarts! USA at its inception, and remained somewhat involved through its major growth period in the late 1990s,? he said. ?That was a really fun time in our sport. It is satisfying to see something that you helped create have that sort of success. My first order of business is to be very pointed about the fact that SKUSA is here to stay. It has been reorganized, it has a plan, and it is time to execute that plan. While I am not at liberty to get into all of the details of our short term plan, it has a number of exciting opportunities for SKUSA, our industry, and more importantly, our racers,? he added.
?My second order of business is to begin to make some long term changes to the ProMoto Tour. It is important to me that we begin to offer the Superkarts! USA ProMoto Tour to more than a small segment of the shifter and TAG racer, and make it more affordable as well. It is also a way for SKUSA National to begin to really reconnect with our regional racer. While I?m not expecting a glut of new entries for the first few PMT races with the additional classes, this does give an indication of our new direction,? he explained.
The changes for the Pro Moto Tour VI are as follows:
1. A purse has been added for Formula S1 and Super G, with payout info available later this week, effective for Grand Junction and for the remainder of the series.
2. Four classes have been added to the Pro Moto; TAG Junior, Formula MX, 125cc Stock Moto, and 60/80/85 Novice.
3. Entry fees for classes that do not receive a cash purse have been reduced. Effective for the PMT at Grand Junction, entry fees for all classes but SuperPro, Formula S1, and Super G are $195. This fee includes Friday practice, two race day entries, driver?s pass, and four gallons of fuel and oil.
4. The Bridgestone tire program has changed to allow only one (1) set for all TAG classes (YHC), and will be one (1) set for FMX (YHC), Stock Moto (YHC), and 60/80/85 Novice (YDS). This is for the Saturday and Sunday events. Tire defects will be administrated by Grand Products by calling (215) 244-1940. All new class competitors are urged to call Grand Products immediately to order tires for events. 60/80/85 Novice racers are to supply their own tires for the events.
In other news, the SKUSA phone lines are now live! On the other end is SKUSA?s new office administrator, Nicci Senter. Nicci will be handling all administrative duties. Please call Nicci for any questions regarding membership, the Pro Moto Tour, or any administrative needs.
Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) is the internationally recognized leader of the shifter kart and TAG (TAG SKUSA) racing community. For more information about SKUSA, its events, and its services, please contact the SKUSA National office at (317) 774-7025 or online at http://www.skusaonline.com.

ParticipantI’ve never done it, but I own a balancer, came with my used kart. Of course it isn’t as fancy looking as the one pictured in the link below. My understanding after securing your tire/wheel/hub on the balancer you see if it wants to rotate to the heavy point. You use stick on weights to balance so it doesn’t just rotate to a heavy point. Sort of a basic version to your local tire shop.
Check at local shops first, JB might have something for sale or maybe IMI or the other kart shops. But you can also check out Rieken’s Racing @ http://out2win.com/catalog/tire_balancer.html
PRECISION TIRE BALANCER
More kart racers are discovering the advantages to be found in balancing their tires. Quicker lap times, longer tread life and smoother operation are just some of the benefits.
The new Burris precision tire balancer is a compact, rugged unit that comes complete with uprights containing free spinning bearings, 5/8″ shaft, an American pattern hub with all necessary hardware.

TAG USA ? Rules Update
Weights adjusted in Masters class, Italsistem clarificationsTAG USA announces two rules changes important to TAG. After recently completing tests on nine engines for the 2004 TAG classes, TAG USA and SKUSA TAG officials have diligently been preparing the 2004 rules package for these exciting new classes.
First, there has been a clarification on the type of Italsistem motor allowed for the 2004 season. The Italsistem Senior class package will utilize an analog ignition and the Masters package will utilize a digital ignition.
Secondly, the minimum weights have been adjusted in the TAG Masters class. This was due to an overwhelming response by the industry on this matter. After much discussion, all Masters weights are now 30 pounds more than the weight for TAG Senior class. These changes make both TAG USA and SKUSA rules the same.
Listed below are the current weights for all classes with each engine approved thus far:

SKUSA Rules Update ? TAG ClassesSKUSA has now added the Vortex Rok to the list of TAG engines allowed in both regional and PMT competition and weights for all Masters chasses have been adjusted due to an overwhelming response by the industry on this matter. All Masters engines now have a 30 pound increase to their senior class counterparts versus the previous difference between the two.
In addition, there has been a clarification on the type of Italsistem engines allowed, digital or analog ignitions The analog ignition option is offered only for the Senior class and the digital offered for the Masters.
The current class weights are as follows as changed to section 40.1 of the SKUSA Regulations and Tech material. No word has been received yet as to whether TAG is making the increases in weight to their Masters class listing as of today; however we should receive word of confirmation soon.
