Good luck Mark-give them hell.
Angie, see what happens when I start talking smack-your forum is more fun than e-karting!
Chazer or is it cheese-it: can’t think of anything to say, so go back to the hot tub and get ready for 2004.
Rotax Juniors don’t count with us senior guysRich, or is it Rick, or will just DICK work for you? 😛
I wish I had a hot tub right now. However I’ll be very happy to sleep in my own bed tonight. I have a Dr’s appt here in about an hr, and may get sent straight to the hospital from there. I may have a blood clot in my left leg.
Great news (not) considering my orthopedist gave my shoulder real high marks this morning.
Wish me luck!

InactiveMike,
I like the track too, but must agree on the roughness. Considering the results of my last outting there, the tracks condition is of some interest/concern to me.
We’re told that the track will be smoothed in the most toubled areas – first and last turn, the dogleg on the old back straight, and the transition coming down the hill into the old back straight. If they can get those sections smoothed before next season it will be a huge improvement.
Despite that, I do like the track. You really have to drive it, and it does not suffer sleepyheads well (ask Mike Broad). You have to be totally focused on driving every second. It’s unforgiving of mistakes, and one slip can cost you a lot. As a result, it’s a tough track to drive fast, but that makes good laptimes VERY rewarding on a personal level. I was turning my first 41.x second laps when I had my accident. It was very satisfying to know that, but it didn’t make my shoulder fell much better 🙁 .
It may not be the best track in the state, but it is the most demanding, physically and mentally. You have to be good to be fast, and that’s why Mitch did so well there. He’s one of the more underrated drivers in the state, despite the fact that he’s probably forgotten more about race driving than many of us will ever know.

Chaz,
I remember that Butt whuppin’ it was my first look at the track too! I had to take advil for the dizziness (so many spins during practice). JB has really improved the track from that race to the 2nd race there. I think the track is rough but i really like how technical it is.
That’s why i look forward to next year’s series! I didn’t realize it was Mitch’s first look too. I was checking out results from all the races and IF we can get half of the people to participate in CSC we’ll have a crowded and fun field.
Walls and I did our sit ups at the gym this early AM. You all best be ready for ’04. I’ll let my times speak for themself next season.

ParticipantChaz,
IF they fix those hot spots at Bandemere I think we’ll all be grateful to JB!
Sunday is the day @ IMI for me. 😀
Hope to see you all there, if not you all need to be running or something other than living large in front of the TV… 😉November 12, 2003 at 9:35 pm #45210Anonymous
InactiveGuys,
I’ll voluteer to be the flag man for any money races at imi this winter.
I’m new to CO. I just moved out here from Minnesota looking for work. I raced one year there with a kt100, and now I have a leopard. It hasn’t even been started yet since I got laid off, and have decided that I shouldn’t be playing until I start working. But I wouldn’t mind helping out a bit so you all can play.
Whoever organizes the money race, just let me know where and when.

InactiveLoren,
Welcome to Colorado and the Tag class, it is going to be awesome. I hope, barring weather, there are going to be several tag drivers at IMI on Sunday and with all the shit talking that is going on there might be a pretty good chance of some type of $ being put on the line. If you get a chance stop up there and get to know some of the other racers.Dane are you going to be at IMI on Sunday?

InactiveRich,
Have you torn your motor off yet? Mike Jansen, Brett, Jack and I will be at IMI on Sunday playing around if you want to go.

Participant8) Genlemen and I use that term loosely,
Yes, I will be at the track Sunday. Dennis, hope you can make it. With all the smack talk I think I’ll bring some beer for AFTER the session, loser serves us. Rich, hope you can make it. See you all then… No excuses ❗

InactiveI’ll be there and expect my beer to be served in an ice cold frosty mug! I spoke with Jack yesterday and we’re going to use his trailer to haul both of the karts up there and we all will get some seat time. Should be a blast.

ParticipantDennis, that’s great! I’ve always wanted to punt two karts at a time 😈
You can serve me in a brite pink thong. I don’t want to see it but I think whoever is spectating will say “see that thong go” 😀

Well, Just got back from 2 + days at Swedish.
Not only did I have a blod clot in my left leg, it turned out to be the mother of all blood clots. It runs from mid-thigh all the way down to my ankle.
That’s bad enough, but it gets worse! A routine CT scan of my chest revealed numerous pulonary embolisms – small blood clots in both lungs. These were probably clots that broke free of my leg and settled in the lungs.
The clotting is because of two things. The injury to my shoulder, and the numerous bruises and contusions I got along with the shoulder. Second it now appears that I may have a genetic predispostion towards this sort of thing. I may be deficient in a certain clotting factor (Factor 5 Leiden) and this caused the out-off-conjtrol nature of my blot clots and embolisms in the lungs.
The short skinney is thgat I won’t be getting back into a kart for close to a year. I’ll be on some pretty heavy anti-quagulants for at least 6 months. Getting in a race kart puts me at level of risk that I’m unwilling to accept. I could mean my life. With a just a bruise I could bleed to death internally before anyone knew what was happening including me.
That’s not to say I’m done. In fact far from it. I’ll have something more in the way of an announcement for KartMonster Racing in the next couple weeks.
You guys are gonna be so pissed!!!

InactiveGeez Chaz, that’s not the best news in the world. Racing isn’t that important. Take care of yourself.

InactiveChaz,
gee I am sorry-I will be nice to you now. Hope to see ya at the party and out at the track now and then. 😯Maybe you could be a promoter for the Colorado tracks and run the CSC gig. 8) Get us a regional event at IMI!
Have fun at the track this weekend. My engine is somewhere between boulder and las Vegas. Sorry but it is refreshing time for my power stud pack. Be safe guys and if I raced I would be the one in the pink thong deliving beer for coming in last against you studlies!
