Fantastic day yesterday with the Racing for Heroes group. While I personally appreciate the comments about the CJKC and especially Jay and Tammy, we in turn appreciate the men and women serving our country in the military, police, fire, EMT, and other services. It was an honor to race with you yesterday and a privilege for our kids to be around.
Missed this somehow…. well said, David!
Mostly On Topic…. we can Never Forget 9-11, nor the people who risk their lives, every day, for our safety and our Freedom.
I also applaud Craig Mansfield for his efforts to honor his nation and its people.

There are others of us in Colorado that enjoyed racing with the PPKRC, TheTrack at Centennial or Grand Junction. But to disrespect other karters for racing a different motor or different series is really not a good thing.
Have you not just done the exact same thing by omitting the two oldest tracks?

ParticipantThanks for posting this, Jay!
Rick, if you want us to come visit with you, give a call, that’s 4 blocks from us. JB’s been very nice to us for a decade, so we’d be happy to go with you.
I’d chip in on a care package as well.
Get Better, JB!

ParticipantI’m on the outside looking in, but have seen this before in my 35 years around karting.
One hurdle is most people don’t want to be heard for fear of stepping on toes and compromising their programs. If your local shop mainly supports one course and you do not, what happens? It has become far too political, and we’ve all seen what political differences have “achieved” in our nation, every day. To that end, perhaps anonymous input could work, many more opinions may well come your way if people’s identities are kept private.
No matter what…. all involved in karting must put ego and self-interest aside and come together for the future of the sport — and that includes everyone. Racing at the same track week in and week out is nothing like running at several circuits, all for a single championship, and whether clearly recognized or not that is keeping potential karters away. No other form of four-wheeled racing I can think of has ever survived this way — and none ever will — even if during a great economy.
Best of Luck in making things happen that benefits everyone. I tried years ago to intervene through mediation, and that went nowhere.
My hope is that something happens before all parties realize it’s too late…. and regret is never good.
Above all else, this is supposed to be fun.
Happy Racing to All. (emphasis on “Happy”)

ParticipantMan, this sounds great, can’t wait to see it.
Curt, I’m quite certain what the “greatest moment” quote will be about…. I still get chills whenever I see that video from “Down South.”

ParticipantWeeping now…. will be better soon. 😉
Glad it was a Grand success, everyone here and especially over there deserved and needed that!
I’m really happy to hear this! Way to go, GJMS!

ParticipantAh, okay, I bought some from him in 2002.
Good Luck, I thought my “fix” had to be too easy to be true!

ParticipantRod:
Did you race at Curly’s, Longmont, and /or Aspen in the early ’80s? Geez, we had to know each other then, I raced with Barbells, the Thomas’, David Donner, Neil Hillmann, Nils Holten, Bubba Stahl, Wynn Vaughn, and several others who were pretty quick. We had a great group and it was fabulous.
At Curly’s, you’re right (if that’s where you mean), we didn’t qualify for most races other than the big ones. Longmont we typically did qualify, IIRC, I think we drew at Aspen (Woody Creek).
Them was the days….
