Fantastic day yesterday with the Racing for Heroes group. While I personally appreciate the comments about the CJKC and especially Jay and Tammy, we in turn appreciate the men and women serving our country in the military, police, fire, EMT, and other services. It was an honor to race with you yesterday and a privilege for our kids to be around.

Hi Jed its great that you enjoyed the CJKC season. There are others of us in Colorado that enjoyed racing with the PPKRC, TheTrack at Centennial or Grand Junction. But to disrespect other karters for racing a different motor or different series is really not a good thing. Be proud and enjoy where you choose to race as all the rest of us do. But remember in the end we are ALL karters and just trying to enjoy this sport without some in Colorado tyrying to make it so devisive.

Have you not just done the exact same thing by omitting the two oldest tracks?

Missed this somehow…. well said, David!

Mostly On Topic…. we can Never Forget 9-11, nor the people who risk their lives, every day, for our safety and our Freedom.

I also applaud Craig Mansfield for his efforts to honor his nation and its people.

Oh the days of no internet or forums. Fact of the matter is, our region is broken. I know that most series in Colorado are being deemed “successful” at this point but let’s all ask ourselves. How much more succesful can it be if we all come together, build a program that boasts TRUE state champions, and race EVERY track in the state to win that championship. All with 150 plus entries. Hey track owners, would you rather collect your practice fee from 40 people or 140 people? Hey shop owners, wanna sell 30 sets of tires or 90? Hey racers, wanna race 5 guys or 35? Promoters…. you get the idea! It is a no brainer. So let’s start using our heads for something other than hat racks!!

This is all possible. In my opinion, the first thing we need to do is stop arguing (especially on a public forum) and find a solution. I personally hate the political BS that comes with this sport. But I love the sport enough to deal with it. So track owners, shop owners, and racers, CALL ME! Voice your concerns, ideas, and wants. I will be the whipping boy. Someone has to step up and not be afraid to stick it out there and get this moving in the right direction. I don’t care what color your kart is, what track you own, or if you like me or not. I do care about this sport and the people in it. So let’s walk away from the keyboards and our egos for a few days and figure out how to fix this. I will be more than happy to go to bat for the karters, track owners, and series directors to get some sort of resolution.

Send me an email at [email protected] and let’s get the fire lit for 2012

    Regards,

    Richie

So sorry I didn’t mean to leave out IMI or Bandimere. If not for JB and the folks up there who helped me and my son when we first began racing Cody would not have had some of the success he has enjoyed. Also I did not intend to disrespect the CJKC it is where we first began racing and we have many friends that when time allows we go to watch their kids race. My son does race in the Rotax series here in Colorado but we try to support as many of the tracks here as possible and have raced not only at TTAC but have had lots of fun racing with the PPKRC and also IMI when they held a dual event with the CJKC. I would have loved to come to Bandimere this weekend to support the Racing For Heroes event but unfortunately they did not have a one day class for our type of kart. I encourage all of the karters in this state to step up that when time allows to race some of these other venues. This weekend the PPKRC is having an event and they allow everyone to race. I also hope that many of you will make the trip over the hill in October to race the final SKUSA MR series event. Richie you said it best its time to see what can be done to unite some of these classes to maybe have a few events each year at different venues where if you run a Rotax with the TTAC or a Briggs with the CJKC or a shifter or one of the other typers of karts you will be welcomed. But as the 2011 season comes to an end I think all the track owners promoters and race series need to be congratulated and thanked. It really is not an easy thing that they do. It requires alot of time and effort from them and the people that assist them to put on a weekend karting event. If not for them none of us would have these great venues to race. So to all the tracjk owners promoters and clubs Cody and I thank you

    P.S. JB get well soon!!!

    Don & Richie:

You guys don’t know me, so a word from the blue yonder often doesn’t mean much, if anything.

I hope you both, and you all, know I wasn’t trying to irritate or insult anyone. What I was trying to do was to inspire letters identical to what you’ve both written.

With your attitudes, karters here have a chance to do something great. To live something great. An atmosphere we can dream about, but only dream about without action, cooperation, and communication.

I encourage others, whether active or inactive karters like myself, to say what you think! For many who only post to complain, you’re totally missing the power you have here, and only you lose out because of it. Get on the Bandwagon!

Nicely Done, Gents, and Happy Karting to All!

    Jed:

I’m not sure who you’re referring to, but hope it’s not me — I’ve always considered you a comrade and even a friend. No PC talk from me!

My intents are for the good of karters and the sport we all share — and I’m not even racing. It’s been a really tough couple of years as you know, so I’m trying to chip in if I can help.

If your concerns are what I think they are, I’m on your side.

    Thanks.

Thanks Eric my son and I have been involved in karting here in Colorado just a couple years now but I have heard stories of the big kart counts of past races. Like Ritchie said karting is broken in some respects here in our state. But I also believe that we as racers have an oppurtunity to voice our concerns I encourage the karters in this state to take Ritchie from CRG up on his offer to as he put it be the “whipping boy” send your thoughts your concerns to him Maybe at the race in GJ in October we can all sit down over food and a cold beer and truly discuss this as racers. I do belive that there could be a window of opputtunity to actually make this happen in some form.

Jed I speak only for myself. But I belive I am not the only karter here in Colorado that is tired of ALL this political BS that is going on. I support kart racing just becaus I chose to race my son in a Rotax series makes me no different then someone who has chose to run another type engine or series. To say that I am only being a mouth piece for Rotax is totally false. I belive and hope I am the first of many voices that want to see a 3 or 4 race series here in Colorado where every engine and class could be recognized. Like I said in one of my earlier posts I have raced my son at other series this year. I want to support karting as a whole. We can all do this and still have our main track or main series that we support as well.

Thanks, Jed, that’s what I thought you meant…. and I hope you still enjoy your track days with your lad before he’s off to other interests. All we can do is hope that somehow, in some way, things can be learned and that open communication can prevail. I think everyone’s emotions run high in this, and that’s a by-product of everyone’s passions for karting. To that common thread, perhaps gains can be made. I admire you for speaking your mind.

I look forward to seeing you at a track sometime, always a pleasure!

Don, I, too hope that a State series can be organized to race at all Colorado tracks. We all know of the strains here, and perhaps cooler heads can prevail to make it happen. The racers would love it, that is clear, and that’s who should really matter to all owners and suppliers. To nobody’s defense, I do not think Jed’s reference was to Rotax, but rather elsewhere. No offense if I’m wrong.

Richie, it appears your nomination has been accepted. That takes stones, and Good Luck with that!

Guys, we all love the very same thing. Politics needn’t rule, that’s the racer’s domain.

    GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
