    Nice find Angel.

I wish everyone would run the same number style as Jim. It would make the world a better place for us that need to make split decisions while standing on the track. The fancy, smaller, customized numbers are just plain hard to make out at times.
Can someone find a post for the S1 main vid from Super Sunday? I have not seen any for that class. Matt’s camera did not work or he would have had a dandy.

I hear ya. There are some very good deals this time of year that are impossible to pass up. Good luck with it, and hope to see you at the track soon.

    Jordan,
Just wondering why you purchased a kart package from out of state? There are some very good deals and shops here in CO. Kind of a slap in the face to the folks who try to make their living in karting in this economy.

Hope you got a smoking deal….. Including the shipping cost.

It certainly adds a level of excitement to both drivers and spectators. It also teaches drivers how to pick the right moment and place to pass. It’s not something to do when there are a bunch of newbies up front just learning how to get around the circuit however. Or when championships on the line, per my comments about CRE back in the day. Never had a happy ending doing starts like that.

    Bob and Ron,
It was all me for splitting the podium Sunday, so give me hell…. For no other reason but to show the 4-stroke guys, and another podium for the 2-stroke guys. Don’t ask me why, it just seemed like the thing to do, so I did it.

Ron did win the TAG Masters class running away from the field all day long. He was impressive, and his kart ran perfectly all day, especially in the main after you used a different air pressure. He was awsome, and he was awarded points and the Big Cup.

Hopefully nobody said anything different about the outcome as it was all my decision to do what was done.

As far as karting today goes, it’s called change. And very few of us really like change in our life. (Pay attention to this next election day to see what people really think about change) It was fun back then when a race weekend cost us $200.00 for everything. We did all get along and help one another, still do. Karting has gone thru a bunch of forced change with TAG motors, ICC motors, ICA motors, chassis, tires, fuel, rules, weights, organizations and sanctioning bodies…. Back to the day you are referring to it was much easier and affordable. In order to run up front every weekend now it takes a bunch of money, time, and luck. Guys like us do not have much of those big three necessary evils. It is however a very cool sport that we all love or we would simply just walk away. It has become very obvious that karting has started to make it’s way back to where it was a few years ago with CR125 Honda Shifter motors, and the continued growth of the Rotax programs. Those are two motor packages that are affordable, fast, techable, fun, and both have parts available from coast to coast. Not just at your local kart shop. Between SKUSA and the Rotax organizations I am sure karting will continue to grow during this brutal economy. Perhaps it’s time to get Ron that shifter he always wanted and come play with the S4 guys next year. I promise there will be only one podium in all shifter classes, and he has what it takes to be on one. He may even get into some good old side by side racing again instead of being 100 yards in front of the field:)

Thanks again to you and everyone else for making the trip over the hill this past weekend, we appreciate your support.

    Brian,
Just looking at Legends, 18 X $25.00 = $450.00. When we (SKUSAMR) were going to utilize the infield at PPIR the ticket was $5,000.00 per day. I know as a fact that the other supporting classes yesterday did not add up in numbers to make up the difference, and the $$$ for a wristband nets the promoter around $10.00ea., if sold at $15.00. In other words, someone lost their arse promoting your race yesterday, or , someone has some major sponsor bucks to keep the series going. (Or, the real cost for the infield varies for certain events).

Karting has never had a series that could pay out unless the promoter had a major sponsor to support it. In this economy it is not going to happen. What little money there is out there to be thrown around by companies that support racing does not seem to trickle down to our sport. There are some that step up for the Supernationals, some street races, some one-off events and so on, but to think that IMI, GJ or TTAC has any money to throw around after they cover their costs you are dreaming. We should all be thankfull in CO that there are so many options on any weekend to go race and attempt to bring home anything the promoters and track owners bring to the podium.

Sounds like you are going to be heading into another direction, along with some other local karters. Good luck and have fun. Most of all, keep your son buckled up tight in those cars and surround him with the best safety equipment money can buy.

Nice flight… It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when in that sport. He’s living his dream now and that’s pretty cool. I wonder what his life insurance company thinks of the vid. :loco

    GJMS staff.

The Stars of Yesterday have struck again. There would have been more Stock Motos there than all of the KZ’s, KF’s, KZ’s, KK’s, KJ’s and WTF’s anyway. Can’t wait to see them pull off a Vegas Casino race in a few weeks :rotate:

Stacey, Let us know if you want to have a race in a few weeks, Cris has some pretty cool trophies we need to part with…. :trophy :~ :trophy :~ I am sure we can make something happen, right or wrong.
