Participantthe MiniMax has 13.5 hp and the Animal 8 to 9 max. I don’t see where these two should be allowed to run in the same class. The MiniMax might be great, but I certainly don’t think it should be classified as a Junior 1 motor.

I seen your daughter in that mini, she smoked the other kids with the briggs motors. Wasn’t even close. More motor options is a problem for the tech crew who will be overworked already. I think the 7 races we had last year was the max we should run. I think we should allow a drop or 2. We already know we can’t race 4th of July weekend, with no drops why bother with running all the other races. Others will have the same type of problems. I think a drop will help attendence. What happens if a driver blows up in practice or prefinal and can’t run the feature, he shouldn’t get points, so his chance of a championsip is over.My 2 cents worth, or with 3 boys driving should I say 6 cents worth.

Participantthere needs to be at least7, and at least 1 drop, like bill said, there are obligations that some may need to meet, and may have to skip an event and they may still be committed in the championship. if there are only 4 races, its not a championship, keep in mind skusa and stars do 2 races per weekend. What about 2 day events like at Steamboat, that hauled ass, if you qualified like crap, you still had opportunity to practice and get it right.

InactiveGuys,
Thanks again for responding. But, I guess I am still a little confused and don’t know what to do with her. She really wants to race, but, I want her to get a little more time driving before she gets into the 80 class. I know that she will be bored after a few races in the 50’s but for safety for everyone I would rather she be bored than than just flat ass scared. Once she has a little time in the seat competing and gaining experience then I would gladly move her up. We are building her Junior 1 cart right now.
I guess that I just need to know where she can race if we start her in the 50 class this year.
Also, Bill Ray, can you please either email or call me @303.947.2645 if you get a chance?
Thanks guys & I hope that you are enjoying the holidays.

InactiveDoug:
At Steamboat, the Jr1 class finishing order was:
Ben with flathead
Dalton with Animal
Rosse (forgot 1st name ) with Comer 80.
The Rosse boy didn’t qualify, started in the back of prefinal and still finished 3rd in the final. I think the 3 different motors with the same weight are very equal, the facts speak for themselves.

InactiveI also think a 10 race season is too much, even with 2 drops. Last year was 7 races and alot of fun don’t mess with a good thing. Adding one drop to the 7 race season is cool. Most all of us have other things to do during our short summer, camping, softball, housework and other races to attend.

InactiveCan we please go with the same tires for the Rotax and CSC series?
Let’s do YGK for both series. Obviously the Rotx series whon’t change, so lets change the CSC series.

ParticipantYGK’s were allowed last year i believe, they are simmilar to YHC’s i am not sure of the differance, but its no a huge deal with the varity of tires to pick over

ParticipantBill and Angie, I disagree on the Mini Max. My daughter and Christian Bird are about a second off the fastest Briggs time her at Grand Junction. We brought in the Mini Max with the understanding that it could run in the Jr. 1 class and seems to not be any faster than the animal. I would be curious to know what the Briggs puts out for hp. Maybe they all could be competitive with one another with differant weight requirements.

InactiveI’d leave the tire rule as is for the TaG class, (which I believe allows for both YGK and YHC).
Also, YGK’s are YHC’s, they’re the same tire. Bridgestone is tracking the tires used for Rotax, which is why they have different letters. I’d guess SS&C probably gets some type of kickback on the YGK’s.

InactiveStacey,
Box stock gas animal is 10 hp. Check out this article at http://news.4cycle.com/modules/sections/index.php?op=viewarticle&artid=11
He dynoed it against briggs flathead on alky (WKA R3 stoker) and the gas animal matches it almost exactly. The animal is cheep and bullet proof when setup for gas.James
