Enough guys. Take it somewhere else. There is nothing constructive in this discussion. I had more to say on this, but won’t. Just stop it now, at least on my forum. I don’t like to moderate, but c’mon, this is getting way out of hand. I would like this to remain a site that can be viewed by the entire family.

People live life like a Jerry Springer show. Air your dirty laundry and BE PROUD of it. What happened to honesty, honour, integrity and shame. Years ago people having kids out of wedlock was grounds for going to the “homes of unwed mothers”. Nowadays people stroll their kids (kids having kids) like its an honour. Language, there used to be a saying “So and so cusses like a sailor!” I’ve heard sailors blush at some of the things coming out of boys and girls mouths nowadays. One of the main problems with parents is they want to be a friend first. Be a parent FIRST! (IMHO)

Give me the old west. You didn’t like someone or you wanted to settle things you went outside and challenged them to a duel, Gunfight at the OK Corral. Cheat, lie or steal? String em up. Barbaric perhaps but honour was a way of life, we lost that over the course of time.

Now back to reality: Karting season is upon us. Let’s try to ACT like kids are watching and like sponges (good or bad) want to soak up what they can. We have a CHOICE as to what they can absorb. Sportsmanship, Dedication, Sacrifice, Integrity, Talent, Dissapointment. All of Life’s lessons and HOW TO HANDLE THEM. They too can absorb pettyness, cheating, poor judgement, accountablity and immaturity. Again, we as ADULTS have the ABILITY to show them these things. It is our choice and our actions that reflect these choices.

People, I know that the USA is a great country because we can express freedoms. My Father was shot down and died defending our freedoms! But is THIS what we want to aspire to? Would you be proud of your children to show up on the Jerry Springer shows of life? Lead by example and sadly we are NOT doing that. Roger et al. might have served to protect our precious democracy. But does this democracy entitle us to prove to others how idiotic and asinine we can become?

The direction and tone of a forum is set by the moderator. There are two well known national forums. One has a fairly strict code of conduct and the other is pretty much wide open and anything goes. Which do you think ia apparently more popular at least by the numbers that visit the site?

You are the founder of this site and also the moderator of what goes over the airwaves here. There are many Colorado karters that won’t participate on this site because they are intimidated by bullies that have taken over it’s direction. It is your responsibility as the founder and moderator of the forum to police the words and actions of those that participate. I know for a fact that you have deleted previous posts that offended you personally …….now I would ask that you take others feelings in to consideration. Please start using the delete key amd PM the offender.

Mr. Moore has been allowed to constantly attack CRE and myself personally on the forum over the past three years and absolutely REFUSES to give up the ghost. I have received three phone calls over the past two days from folks that I thought I would never hear from again. They have applauded my response to Mr. Moore’s most recent outburst for they are as tired and offended by his mindless tyraid I as am. Slander may be difficult to prove but the ongoing attacks by Mr. Moore on this forum, that have been downloaded, represent harrassment, a civil charge that won’t be difficult to prove. You have the responsiblity, power and position to put an end to the nonsense on this site. Please clean it up.

I totally applaud Mike Jansens post……..it is right on target.

You are right, I am the founder and moderator. I have only deleted posts on 2 occasions, and was very sad to have to do so. I know there are forums that are very strict, and others that are, for all intents, not moderated at all. I was hoping to keep mine somewhere in the middle, and keep things under control with a reminder here or there. I guess that is not going to happen in the world we now live in, (the world that Mr. Jansen described so well). Most of the time I see the obnoxious posts as people showing their true colors, and figure that most adults can see through the malarkey. That might be expecting too much.

I do apologize to anyone who has been hurt or offended by anything written on the forum. You can all do me a huge favor and keep it to a ?G? rating. Don?t make things so personal. There are ways of having constructive discussions without the nastiness and name calling.

I will be paying closer attention, and will moderate, delete, edit, or ban, if I have to!

Also….Remember that many people come to this site to learn about this great sport of karting that we all love (see there is something we can all agree on!) Some of these people are deciding whether or not this is for them and their family. What do we really want them to see?
