Hey guys we have a bunch of Briggs parts here at GJMS that we are clearing out cheap… Call Brian at 970-256-0107
Hey Brian, What do you have? I may be interested.
Can you send me an email listing them?
Thanks,

ParticipantHey guys – when I talked to Brad about adding the Briggs class I suggested the engine be based on WKA rules to keep the cost down for new racers and racers that could not afford to buy another engine this year to compete in the other classes.
My understanding is the rules will be similar to the 2006 CSC rules with some changes that align with the WKA engine changes. I will check with Brad and Jim to see if they agree with this and post here.

Les, You know you can count on our vote to have Tyler join Jr.2, but the final decision is to come from Brad and Jim.
Dave, Put me down for one of those rule books!
BLINK, any changes to any other rules we’re used to?
i.e. chassis, bodywork, clutch, gear, weight?
One more question on tires, some of us were running the 4.60
steer tires on the rear in Jr.1, will that still be allowed for the Jr.2?Will do Russ!

Being new to karting last year, I know that WKA is the World Karting Association. I am trying to locate the rules and looks like you can pay to download the tech manual. My guess is that it has all the rules to every class under the WKA (alot of them) and my next question is which class are we following? Maybe someone can cut out the section that pertains to us and let us know what we need to do to our motors. Also if Tyler is going to run the animals, Will we need the OK from someone since he will be 11 in June and the class is 12-15? He ran the animals last year and can’t wait to go this year.
We will follow the JR. 2. I have manuals coming if you want one. They’re $18 so just let me know. All the manuals will have info on several classes. As far as Tyler’s age, I would ask Brad and Jim since it is a club race series. I know Brad has made exceptions in the past when a driver is near a birthday.

Dave, Good to hear! I wish I could have been to the meeting. Was there any discussion about the rules? There is less than 2 months untill the first race and we need time to change things if needed. Thanks for your help and we are looking forward to racing the animal.
Hey Les, thanks for the vote! As Greg posted the rules are WKA Jr. 2. I know some changes were made to include the PVL and the fire ring gasket, etc. None of the new parts are real time consuming to work over. Let me know if I can help. Dave

Thank you for your support of these classes.
Something we haven’t seen these last couple of years.
Hopefully this will gain more interest from others so
we can build these classes back up to thier previous dominance.Glad we met at the meeting. I look forward to doing business

Taylor Bezanson Jr.2 Briggs ’07Hey Russell – Good meeting you as well! I’d like to think there is enough room for several engine classes to include Briggs. With your support we could, in fact, bring it back. So thanks to you and all Briggs lovers alike! 😀

Not to confuse the current topic, BUT.
Uncle Frank will be introducing his OHV Blue Wazom this summer at around $850.00.
The flathead Blue was a good value with a means for controlling parity, I am just thinking that the new Blue may just pan out to be even more popular.
MHPS, I am glad to see someone pushing Briggs stuff in the Denver area market, Good Luck.“So it looks like there are 5 people interested in the Animal class. Are there anymore out there……?”
I think there is about 3 million people around here that don’t yet know racing a kart is with in there budget, and none of them will be at the Go kart meeting.
Thanks for the support. I believe Briggs is really working on improvements, with affordability, as they move forward. I’m stoked about the 8003 series engine that is scheduled to be out this year! :woohoo

My son will be 11 in June and ran the animal last year. I think he would be fine in Jr2 I would like him to run this class if it happens. Since the participants may be from the animal class of last year, it may be easier to use the old CSC/IMI rules with the updated parts since the new animals come with them (The PVL ign in particular). If the PVL is allowed, I think that we should allow the WF ignition for the rev limiter to protect a stock motor from blowing a hole in the side. There should be no difference in performance, just the protection.
Definitely something to go over Saturday evening..provided there is enough interest to run the class.

Les,If they do have an jr2 Animal class it should be BOX STOCK. No need to build them. They will run ALL season in that form. OR WF .
I agree. I was thinking WKA “rule based”. We could also use last years CSC rules with some updates to allow for the new 2007 parts if people want to use them. Just a thought….

ParticipantSo, I spoke with Brad today. If we get 5 or 6 serious takers for an Animal division IMI will add the class. Looks like the interest is focused on a Jr. 12 – 15 class.
The season winner will get a new “Gen” Animal from us so let me know if you are interested in racing the motor.
Thanks,

The only possible class would be jr2. There currently is not one. If you can get 4-5 in this class I’m sure Brad would let you run.
Hey Greg – Looks like there is some interest there…

This question has been asked several times already, and the sealed Honda was put in place. Using Animal may used at club level but only few. Also, using animal it results in pocket book racing and the sealed Honda is just that sealed.
Thanks for the input Dave. I’m not suggesting replacing the Honda but rather adding a class for those who prefer the Briggs Animal for a club level class.

Do you have a actual store we can go and get parts or is it only on the web?
Hey Les.
We share a shop with another company located on Imperial St. We keep some items in stock now and will increase as the season progresses. This is our way of keeping overhead and prices lower. Give me a call. I’ll be glad to meet with you some time!
Thanks,
Dave
