Today when I logged on, it said there were 23 “New Posts”, but only two of them were new.

This has been going on for about two months or more.

    Eddy,

You said previously that CRE helped you out on getting parts.
Do you have a contact for CRE, I need a few parts too.
Also I wanted to find out what happened to CRE, are they really out of business and why?

Bandimere is a slower, shorter and much narrower track, it is in a parking lot (Rough Surface) and is laid out with hay bails. If you go to wide through a corner, or spin out, you’ll hit the hay bail. I was there once with my TAG cart and won’t go back, it tore up a set of tires after 12 laps.

I would recommend the track at Centennial, it’s more of a technical track and it’s closer than going up north to IMI

Over the last two years the only thing I have done to the Leopard is replaced the clutch once, cleaned out the carb twice and replaced the spark plug once. I run the fuel mixture at 20:1 instead of 16:1 (to reduce the amount of exhaust smoke and plug fouling) and I keep the RPM’s under 15,000. I run TAG masters with front brakes and haven’t had any major problems with the Leopard.

Check out the DD2 that Doug Welch is selling, the DD2’s are faster than the TAGs but maintenace is lower. 8)

    If I was buying my first kart, I’d get a DD2 😆

    MIke,

Great suggestion on the universal socket, I’ll have to try that, I didn’t want to drill a hole in the sidepod and I was
geting tired of taking it off every time I needed to use the external starter

Coleman starter with new battery for sale. Switched to a TAG motor and don’t need it anymore. $200 OBO. Located in Colorado Springs.

Check the above posting, in the classified section, for an external starter and battery that will work on the Leopard engine. All you have to do is drill a hole in the side pod to get at the crank nut, or take the side pod off.

I rather doubt a drill would start the engine, and if it did it would probably break your wrist when it did start. I have a similar starter that I use to start my Leopard engine when it is cold. That way I don’t drain the onboard battery down.

Another day, another up date. The only things I really need off the engine are the ignition coil, carb and radiator. Its easier to leave the carb with the kart than it is to leave it on the engine. Just remove the inlet fuel hose and lay the carb off to the side. The ignition system is two bolts and one disconnect on the back side of the engine. The radiator is two clamps and one bolt.

After a bit of arm twisting by the dealers, Rotax is waiving all fees for applying the dual seal. So both programs are a complete no cost to the racer. The only thing you have to lose is the time necessary to pull the motor and a can of carb cleaner so that we can crack it open.

There is no down side to racer.

Would this apply to a 2007 DD2 engine? :loco

Les, you might check into the KT100 series of karts. I haven’t run one but from the other postings it seems like it could be a less expensive alternative to TAG.
