ParticipantI’ve done a minimal amount of karting several years ago, maybe 20 laps total. My father and I would like to rent karts for part of a day and have fun at a track. Which front range track would you recommend? Thanks.

ParticipantI would recommend the track at Centennial, it’s more of a technical track and it’s closer than going up north to IMI

ParticipantThanks. So how does Centennial compare to Bandimere?

ParticipantBandimere is a slower, shorter and much narrower track, it is in a parking lot (Rough Surface) and is laid out with hay bails. If you go to wide through a corner, or spin out, you’ll hit the hay bail. I was there once with my TAG cart and won’t go back, it tore up a set of tires after 12 laps.

ParticipantThanks for the advice. We’ll check out the Centennial track.

ParticipantWithout taking anything away from The Track at Centennial (Jim does have a great facility), I think the information posted about Action Karting (Bandimere) is somewhat out of date and a bit misleading. First of all, similar to just about all the tracks in the area including The Track, the people out at Action Karting are fantastic. They are super nice and will take good care of you. The karts you will rent are very, very similar to the ones of Centennial. So those two are a wash.
The track is not lined with hay bales and hasn’t been in the 2+ years that my kids have raced there (including yesterday). We typically run one set of race tires a season and many, many days at Action Karting (as well as IMI – which is great too – and The Track). It is safe and there is ample run off. It’s a rougher surface than Centennial true, but certainly not bad or unsafe.
The bottom line is – try them all! Between IMI, The Track, and Action Karting, you have 3 great choices, 3 sets of great people, and 3 different experiences/challenges. As karters, we need to support those who support us. My 2 cents at any rate.

ParticipantAs a new karter myself, finally purchased a used CRG/Leopard, I’ve rented from both TTAC and IMI, can’t go wrong w/ either one. All people were friendly/helpful. TTAC the track is more technical, IMI, the karts are faster, but still a fun track. Haven’t been down to Action Karting, but you can’t go wrong, where every you go.

ParticipantWell. Now it’s a tough decision between Bandimere and Centennial. I’m in the Springs, so IMI is a little far away (for now). Since cost is about the same for rentals, I guess it’ll be a coin flip.

ParticipantIf you’re thinking about going this week, the Mile High National drag race may affect the Bandimere kart tracks availability. Check first.
They are all different, you may have to sample and decide for yourself.

ParticipantI would rather drive all the way to grand junction than stoping at bandimere, rough track not long enough, is like racing in a combat zone.if you are renting a kart who cares the condition of the track, but if you running your own, consider IMI or THE TRACK.

ParticipantIMI has the fastest go kart rentals in Colo 60+mph for our standard karts. We use real Intrepid race karts, not rental type karts. We also rent tags and shifters.

ParticipantWow! IMI also sounds like an interesting option. OK. so out of the three choices, which one would be the best “first” track option? Keep in mind that we’ll be using the track’s rental karts. I want a track that will test my driving limits. I’ve done a little auto racing in the past, so I don’t want a kart where I hold the throttle to the floor for the entire lap. I really want a driving challenge. Thanks.

ParticipantGo to IMI, then, that’s where I decided that karting was something I really wanted to do…

ParticipantCrikey… :driver Do all three and get three different experiences. You’ll pass less than 5 miles from TTAC en route to IMI.

I guarantee that you’ll find any of the 3 tracks plenty challenging enough.
