:usa: We have two hotel The Grand Vista and the Clarion. Use RACNG FOR HEROES for a user code at the Grand Vista. Use the above code at the Clarion.
Both are great hotels. We added the other hotel to give racers a choice. I am staying at the Grand Vista, great pool and food,
I sorry that I have another meeting already set. I would like to race my DD2 at your track what class is open to me?

:usa: A BIG THANK YOU!! To everyone who helped in putting on the RACING FOR HEROES at the Unser indoors karting facilities last weekend. It was a great turnout by the Colorado Karting Community. The Military were in awe of the numbers of people in attendance. They were also excited by the speed and thrill of karting. The single focus of going faster each time on the track. They all mention how the concentration cleared their minds.
The only factor that caused some concern and much laughter was the geezer class
The top ten reasons put forth by Charles Gordon to say he was really the winner of that class.1. He selected the wrong kart (five times)
2. He was taller and should win because of his height.
3. He was older and should get a bigger discount.
4. It was past his nap time,
5. Subtract the handicap only from his time not the other persons.
6. His kart had to much air in the tires
7. His kart had to little air in the tires.
8. The flagger didn’t like him.
9. His helmet was to tight or was it to loose.
10. The top reason was his socks were too tight.I applaud all who supported the event and look forward to the Grand Junction and Action Karting dates of RACING FOR HEROES

303 242 2929:usa: Thanks Charles for the correction, I just put up what I was told. I didn’t try my bad. Jon your ok it is just the first step in the process. They will know the Colorado karters by a wrist ban that I have. So see me first before going further that day.

303 242 2929:usa: An update. KId karts If you have raced before in the 6 to 8 year old bracket bring a time slip if possible. Jay will be there to help with certification of your abilities. Kids please wear your racing suits.
We will have a PA system set up for the races manned by the voice of Tony Laporte a super announcer and great volunteer. Thanks Greg and Ian for the equipment.
A photographer on the inside of the track, Louis “Depam” DePaemelaere, will photo the Military races and be available for all others as well. Thanks Depam
The race director for the military races will be Rick Schmidt and his crew Lucy and Maxie.
The use of the 360 neck brace is a required item for the RACING FOR HEROES event. The braces are at the track and are free for your use. You can bring and use your own helmet. What better way to try a piece of equipment under actual conditions. I found it far superior to the foam collars. I will be wearing one this year when I race.

303 242 2929:usa: An update: We have a RACING FOR HEROES racing coach for the military personnel. Rich Schmidt has stepped up to run the series at UnserRacing indoor track. He will coach both teams and set the rules to determine the winning team. We have the traveling trophy in hand and are looking forward to the outing. If someone with either Army or Air Force background would like to help him, please let me know. It could become a challenge between the coaches.
SKUSA will also have a representative to explain their series and the 2011 rule changes.
The kid kart racers are urged to come in their uniforms for pictures with the Military personnel.
It is getting better and better but we still need help. Racing and non-racing volunteers are needed. Please come out and join us.

303 242 2929:usa: Your melon hasn’t been able to fit in your helmet since you won the Tag Worlds. You also want tea with your melon I suppose. The burritos will be made that day and will be a choice of beef and chicken. Will you be able to beat Ronnies time since the karts will be the same ? I remember when you told me that my slower time was some motor and more me the driver. It will great see you there Freezeman. :~
:usa: Mike, I wanted to be sure of the cost. I met with the track manager today and the one day fee charge for registration has been waived. The charge for one session will be About $ 27.00 with the ten percent discount given by the Unsers to Colorado racers. You can reduce this amount by buying a 3 or 5 race package that can be shared with others.
A special area for Colorado racers to get a lunch. I secured 100 luncheon burritos today that will be served with chips and soda. An official photographer will be in attendance so you could wear your racing suit and get a great photo for seeking sponsorships. A one time event fee for your class up for grabs. The track times based on a weighed scale(Rotax,SKUSA,Race the Rockies,PPIR,)
The seminars on how to tune you and your kart to go faster, military races, track side announcer, bench racing, the Daytona 500, It will be a great day I look forward to seeing you.

[email protected]Here are a few of the events that will be taking place during the RACE FOR HEROES at the UnserRacing indoor track on February 20th.
Starting at 11a.m, there will be seminars and kart displays:
• A J Noud of Rocky Mountain Kartworks (303-587-4656) will talk about front-end alignment instructions using tape and lasers
• Barry Lewis of Billet Performance Kart (303-841-4855) will show the use of his Dyno and the aid it gives in tuning your motor and
• Doug Welch of Shockwave Karting (303 781-7829) will show the proper ways to install your seat and its ramifications.• All racers can compete on rental karts for prizes using a handicapped scoring system. Sponsors and their families can race for bragging rights in their groups.
• Watch the Daytona 500 on the flat screens at the track, starting the kick off of the NASCAR season as Jimmy goes for six.
• Colorado karters and sponsors will be issued an arm bracelet for admission to the lunch and for special rates on kart rentals during the event
• As part of the opening round for RACE FOR HEROES, there will be a special race series for the Military Challenge: Buckley Air Force versus Fort Carson Army.
• UnserRacing has ordered kid karts and is awaiting their arrival
Sponsors for the karts, food and drinks are still needed.
