ParticipantScott,
Thanks for taking the lead and making the effort to be proactive in getting Colorado karting back on track. GJMS is all for a state series again, We would really encourage a SKUSA mtn region series, with the inclusion of Rotax it is going to be a terrific program!
one round each at:
GJMS
IMI
SBR
Bandimere
MillerThis could be like the good ol days with everyone working towards the same goal!
Again thank you!

ParticipantAnd one other thing…………………….
Stacey posted an outline/idea for a 5 race series that would require his crew to travel 500 miles round trip 4 times. That alone says a lot.
Thanks Stacey.
You can add Christian to the list.
You can add my name if Gary Davis is added to your list. Gary and I need to start having fun again.Cris

ParticipantSounds great guys!
Thank you everyone for your responses so far to my post, it really helps. We need more, please.
It would be very helpful if everyone from the tracks and shops please try and get a rough head count of interested parties that would support this series and not just their home track races, lol. It would make it a little easier for us going forward. I understand we will never get the numbers perfect, I get that, but if we don’t feel we have the support of the drivers than this will be a huge waste of time and money for everyone. So, the more feed back and support we can generate will only help our momentum as well as our negations and fund raising for this series. I’m the last person who wants to waste anyone’s time. So please, get these posts to all your friends, customers, kids, etc. Let’s see how serious we really are about this.
It appears at this point; I will step up and be the middle man for all of the track, shop owners and promoter as far as working with them to get this venture up and running. After that I just want to be a driver and drive. Unless of course you rather I didn’t. I will do my very best to represent the drivers going forward at this time as well as negotiate what I can. I’m sure I will need help at times and would be more than happy to have it from some other interested drivers, fathers, mothers etc. I have a lot on my plate as well. At some point we will need everyone’s help, just showing up to race.
I truly hope that Tom and Stan will take us seriously and give us all the opportunity to make this happen. They are a huge part of this venture and just like everything else, we need them as well. I’m willing to do my part and step up as a sponsor, driver and help with construction repairs to a point. Lots of details to work out going forward, that’s why we do it as a group venture and get this series rolling.
I have now spoken to all of the track owners and most of the shop owners in Colorado that I know.
Surprisingly enough, when you put all the rumors to the side and actually speak with the track owners and shop owners directly, they all have some great ideas and an amazing amount of passion left in all of them. My gut is telling me they all want this to happen as well. Yes, there is a lot of work to do, but we are heading in a really good direction.I think it’s a no-brainer that an outside professional racing organization such as SKUSA, whom are already planning on doing some racing in the region and would be a perfect fit for us. I have been running SKUSA events around the country now for several years and in my opinion they’re one of the best ran Go-Kart organizations in the country- from the business side to the most important part, making it very safe for all of us! They have it down, it’s what they do for a living, and they do one hell of job at it. We would be very fortunate in my opinion to have them work with us in this venture. Again it would be a perfect fit for us here in Colorado and in Utah, in my opinion.
Thank you in advance, Scott

Participant:usa: I have talked with Jay,Scott,Stacy,Lee,and Stan. I have run RACING FOR HEROES events at Bandi. I have talked with Brad about hosting an event .. I offer these events as a way to increase rental income to the track owners during a race weekend. We get a set of rules for the other classes. It can be either IKF or SKUSA. The additional exposures of the HEROES gives us people in the stands and draws attention to Kart racing. They generate media coverage. We involve people who will buy ours or the shops karts to entry the sport and makes sponsors happy. I am discussing a temp circuit with another facility. It is a long short at this point. It would serve as a great year end event if it happens. If not we have great tracks owners and operators. At the KART RACING FOR HEROES events we also get to thank the men and women who serve us everyday. First responders, fireman, military, police what bad scenes they have to see and work in everyday. Thank you who have taken part of these events in the past.
I see a four or six race series. KART RACING FOR HEROES STATE SERIES has a nice ring. Lets have a meeting and make a schedule.

ParticipantThere can only be one state series if you want any turn out. I really can’t believe the talk about street or parking lot races, they are too much work, too much cost and trash your kart. It’s not like there are not plenty of real kart tracks in the state you should be supporting. You want to run your kart in a parking lot or on the street get a Shriner kart and do parades! Unser racings parking lot would be joke of a track with no room to do a decent course, if they want to have real kart racing then build a real kart track! Get off these stupid ideas people! Support one state series on the tracks we have and one promoter be it SKUSA or who ever.

I agree that temporary tracks are expensive and we need one series, I just would have phrased it different. I assumed this thread was to give people a forum to present ideas and discuss what is possible. Calling them stupid will keep most from posting.
My take on how it should be set up-
SKUSA Pro Kart / Rotax Challenge Mountian Region as the Organization
1 race at each track that is on board
National Class structure and rules with a couple of open classes
No rental karts on track for Saturday Practice and Sunday Racing
Item that needs resolved- how do you get the Colorado Jr Karter Club involved or is it possible? My opinion is that these kids really don’t need us and throwing them into an event with 100 plus racers will take away from the experience not improve it. Jay please chime in.Scott-
You said you have spoken with ALL TRACKS- what did TTAC have to say on the matter?Cris
