    Help me undestand

    IMI membership $60 60*200=12000

    CSC membership $125 125*200=25000

    SKUSA membership $65 65*200=13000

We know where our money gets spent with SKUSA. Where does all the money go in state? Does it help support karting in CO. Or does it in the pockets of the people in charge?

In business you partner with people that: 1) offer something of unique value or bring expertise to the table that you don’t have, 2) have their business plan sorted out, (ie., they aren’t making it up as they go, they aren’t “experimenting” to see what might work), 3) have a proven track record of success, and 4) are reliable.

This is not a leading or rhetorical question:

What aspects of the above criteria does Skusa meet?

In the first year of the Pro Kart Challenge (2005), the members did not have to pay a membership fee. This year the members have to pay a fee to Pro Kart, but they know what to expect for their $.

Why shouldn’t the CSC have the same oppurtunity? We already have a kart base, which the pro kart series did not last year. At the end of the 2006 season, we can decide as a group if what we received was worth a fee. If in fact the Pro kart challenge/SKUSA delivers on a great product then it will be an obvious choice. If not, then it is their mistake and they can figure that they are out for 2007.

I have heard that ALL local participants now have to buy their race tires from PKC/SKUSA. MG yellow – $180.00 each. This makes the $75.00 a mute point right?

We should wait and see what they have to offer us in a year. We are not dealing with the same organization this time. I would much rather follow the same rules, have Jim K. run the thing, and have a good time, then have a new owner change things around. We are only dealing with the same initials. Not the same people.

    Richard,
Thanks for the kind words. I thought it was interesting that the tire you had to buy was the “MZ” and not a choice of the FZ which we ran here last year with success.

The name has stayed the same, the faces have changed, and we don’t know what is going to happen.

I always laughed at the old Zenith TV commercial years ago… “The quality goes in, before the names goes on”

I haven’t seen any quality yet.

Sitting on the sidelines, typing and typing…

    Jim
