I’m in for ANY Enduro event. 6hrs, 12hrs, 24hrs, heck ill enter for a 48 hour envent! If you are worried about wearing out your equipment then you are in the wrong sport! Lets get this show on the road. I’m IN. Anyone need a ride for it?Hey,
Nice offer Mike. Would you consider teaming with Roman? I made several calls today with no interest on that date. We really like the enduro idea too and have supported it here on the forum too! But if Brad and Jim decided to drop the winter enduro, we would love to run your kart. It’s just leaving for Junction Thursday afternoon for the Csc race doesn’t give us enough time to show up prepared the way we like to be. We’ll need the full Friday practice in GJ to get it down both directions. But if you are offering a shared ride, that’s different.
Are you going to run the Leopard? Do you mind putting a #4 (L) seat in it and driving with an insert? I’ll provide the insert. You guys would kick some butt. I ran a few numbers, just to try to see if we could afford it. Looks about 3k to 3.7k with tires, fuel, consumables and tax to run the kart itself for 1320 laps. This does not count entry fee? (I have the notes if you want to call, pretty sure my numbers are close) 4 drivers would be $750 to 1k each. 6 drivers would be better for us $500 to $600 each driver.
Jim must have some national and out of state racers committed. Maybe a Colorado Shifter, a Colorado Tag and a Colorado concession team against them? What do you think?

InactiveWell Mike you must have pocket of $$$$$$, while most of us don’t and are trying to stay in this sport. A new rotax motor at $3,500 or a rebuild at $1.000 is not a drop in the bucket.

Participantthis is what I love about this race. I really designed it to bring out the recreational racer and get people using their equipment. The “racer” is already thinking lap times, no way the equipment is going to make it… And the marathon runner can’t wait! I’m sure the auto industry was having the same discussions over the announcement of Le Mans when it first was announced.
I’m talking with Brian R. about prize money and logistics, but I can tell you, this first year, rules will be very “open”.Remember, you have to finish to win!
stay tuned!!!February 23, 2008 at 4:36 pm #59090Brian Robson
ParticipantI never realized the date was so close to the CSC opener.
That makes it tough on the local contingent. How about a 24 utilizing the rental karts from IMI, GJMS, TTAC, and Action? The tracks can make $$ renting their stuff, The racers get a very unique opportunity to race, and we all have fun not killing your race equipment less than a week before the first state championship race.Or, we do a 12 hr during the 12 hrs of Sebring in the end of March?
I think Jim’s Idea of a 24 is great. I hope to get a ride for it, or whatever enduro we have here in Colorado.

ParticipantGreat idea Jim. I would do it in a heart beat, BUT my Briggs kart would last about 4 or 5 hours… maybe. If I can find a ride, I will do it. I’ll even bring the camper with me so we have a place to sleep, cook & hang out. Just like the “big boys” do.
Gotta do the “Le Mans” start.
I like the idea of using the rental karts. More money for the track(s). Cost split 5 or 6 drivers (or more) to a kart.

ParticipantAs long as the cost isn’t outrageous (and I wouldn’t blame anybody if it was) I might have to pull Schuler out of retirement and put together a rental kart team!

ParticipantJim,
it sounds like tons of fun, are you renting any karts for the event? if you are please put INTERNATIONAL BROKERS RACING TEAM on your reservations book.

InactiveJim,
We’ll definately make the trip out for that! Sure, it falls on the same weekend as a WKA Man Cup race for us and between 2 big local (Indiana) shows, but we can’t pass up the challenge of doing 24 Hours…
I’ve done the Granja 500 in Brazil 3 times now (11 hours) and Dismore’s 200 Miler at New Castle every year, but this is unique. And for anyone who hasn’t done such a race, I can assure you won’t have more fun racing all year.
Can’t wait!

ParticipantWhat I like about the 24 Heures du Track is it puts everyone a bit out of their comfort zone. It will be one
of the highlights of the summer. Can’t wait.March 7, 2008 at 7:32 pm #59097rsotak
ParticipantIf there is a rental kart class, I’d be game. When will the prices be listed.

ParticipantUpdate…
Yes, rental/corp karts will be available. We have some “Big” names already expressed interest. Lets just say from the IRL, Nascar, and GT series, as well as local media.
I will post entry fees, driver requirements and the “official” registration form in the next few days…
Lets just say that we are working on the TV deal, Mobile Big Screen and Fireworks at Midnight as of now.
More to follow,

ParticipantWow!
That is great stuff Jim
As for now I’m not racing in it, but it sounds like a Great event.
Id love to be apart of the event so if you need a corner worker Jim I’d love to help (that is only if your going to pay what Rotax did back in August, yep $100 a day 😆 )

ParticipantI hope to have a kart by then, but if I don’t maybe a rental team.
OTOH, either way, you’re going to need volunteers to help organize and set up aren’t you? I could be pursuaded…:)
