OK, so after I cracked open a been it occurred to me, antifreeze will work *duh*, but what ratio would you recommend?

Thanks for all of your work with organizing this, Jim. It will help all of us neophytes feel more comfortable engaging in competitive racing!

A little off topic- have you given any thought to a test & tune “season pass”?

What a crock. I’ve given up on Bernie and F1.

    GO ALMS!

I checked the carb last night and it’s a K27 needle on the second position. OK, well, I guess I need to practice some more….the best I can do around that damn hairpin is about 6200-6300 rpms.

Wow, thanks for the feedback. I’m going to try to get out to the track this weekend for some experimenting. By the way, a little off-topic, but why would they not open the track at the crack of dawn during the summer or keep it open later to avoid the mid-day heat?

Thanks for the feedback Garrick. I’m only asking because the kart bogs down leaving the pits and after a spinout. Also, if I don’t hit the hairpin just right at The Track, I could make a sandwich in the time it takes for the kart to respond to the throttle. I KNOW I could pick up a second or two if I could get this bottom-end thing worked out…

Very astute observation, Doug! You should have used your skills as a CSI! Anyhow, I would have to agree, it’s fraud. If it was legit that thing would have sold a couple minutes after posting. I’ll report it to Craigslist.

Is that Barry doing pushups? I am surprised how awake everyone looks at the finish. Congrats to the winners! I’m curious to know how many parts they replaced over the duration of the event.

I was out of town this weekend. So, what was the damage? What percentage of the starting field actually finished, and how many laps did the winner complete?

    Garrick,

I have the older harness too. Thanks for the info- I’ll pick up one as a spare!

Put the new battery in and it works better than ever. I think the battery I got with the kart was bad out of the box…

Interstate has always been a very reliable replacement brand. I had one in my Toyota pickup and it lasted 11 years. Would you have a part number for the kart battery? I’d like to have one as a spare.

Woo hoo, now I can play hooky tomorrow and head to The Track!

    D fresh,

No problem. Got a new battery from Billet today and will see if that fixes the problem…apparently the “cheap” batteries available for karts these days generally do not last the weekend.

I didn’t jump the kart; I attached the starter to the minivan battery with jumper cables. I do have a slow charger for the battery and it indicated still on charge this morning, so I am going to get our battery shop here at work to test it….

Wow. Bad battery. Starter worked great hooked up to the minivan with jumper cables. Just pushing the kill switch in drops the battery to 2 volts. Will see if it slow charges tonight….
