She was on the gas. The top 5 was awesome but you should have seen her in the heat races. She had horrible qualifying and started 14th. Moved her way up as far as 4th. Drove her tail off. Our other pro shifters Husain and Silva drove from the back to both finish in the top ten.

It was a great opening weekend for us. Our 2 Tag jr drivers Baker & Craig had the field covered all weekend. Were running one two in the opening laps and both got taken out.

TAG Sr Nick Johnston was running a PRD with a 1/4 mile long straight. Lost .4 seconds on that straight and still ran in the top 5 all weekend. Conner De Phillippi threw a rotax on our demo chassis (not the right engine for that track) and finished 6th.

We will be back with the right power next year. Great event. I heard there were 25,000 spectators.

Let me explain what i spoke about with a few people that called yesterday. I have my hands full with importing, dealer relations, and setting up our national race team. With that said, I don’t mind spending some time and energy to help get this thing on the right track.

Being away for a few years has been a great thing for me. When i left, our sport was going well. When I got back, well…..

So call or email and let’s get it pointed the right direction. After all, this is what we love to do. So why add politics to it??

Oh the days of no internet or forums. Fact of the matter is, our region is broken. I know that most series in Colorado are being deemed “successful” at this point but let’s all ask ourselves. How much more succesful can it be if we all come together, build a program that boasts TRUE state champions, and race EVERY track in the state to win that championship. All with 150 plus entries. Hey track owners, would you rather collect your practice fee from 40 people or 140 people? Hey shop owners, wanna sell 30 sets of tires or 90? Hey racers, wanna race 5 guys or 35? Promoters…. you get the idea! It is a no brainer. So let’s start using our heads for something other than hat racks!!

This is all possible. In my opinion, the first thing we need to do is stop arguing (especially on a public forum) and find a solution. I personally hate the political BS that comes with this sport. But I love the sport enough to deal with it. So track owners, shop owners, and racers, CALL ME! Voice your concerns, ideas, and wants. I will be the whipping boy. Someone has to step up and not be afraid to stick it out there and get this moving in the right direction. I don’t care what color your kart is, what track you own, or if you like me or not. I do care about this sport and the people in it. So let’s walk away from the keyboards and our egos for a few days and figure out how to fix this. I will be more than happy to go to bat for the karters, track owners, and series directors to get some sort of resolution.

Send me an email at [email protected] and let’s get the fire lit for 2012

    Regards,

    Richie
