ParticipantWhat an awesome weekend in Las Vegas.
Firstly, congrats to both Hannah, and Adam for spirited drives. Hannah was charging literally all weekend in a STACKED Mini Max field. Gunnar, Lynette, and Rick, you guys have done a hell of a job with that driver. She is on it. 2016 is going to be HUGE for her.
Adam, it was great meeting you. Seriously way to represent Windsor. That is cooler to me than youll know. We gotta meet up in December when Im back in NOCO. Lets go show people that trophy! This past week in Vegas was a ton of fun. It was great to see alot of Coloradoan’s make their way out. Kids like Schimmel and Bird tuning for some of the big names. You had Stacey with CRG/Energy Kart USA put drivers on the podium. And to boot, the Welch brothers were back together in Vegas at the Rio. The history was everywhere last week. Hell, you even had a few Coloradoans on the other side of the fence with Mike Edwards keeping things on the up and up in Tech.
Im not going to sit here and tell you what I think is going to happen with karting as a result of the ‘war’ between Maxspeed and SKUSA. I have worked for both. They have great people, and great racing at each event. Tom K and SKUSA have been doing this so long. But Richard and Maxspeed are doing more events and hitting it harder than I ever expected. Greg Welch and I discussed it, and I am starting to buy in to Greg’s theory. The two fighting may cause some fraction and difference of opinion, but in the end it is resulting in two promotions companies (SKUSA/Maxspeed Entertainment) competing to bring the BEST product to the karter. Maybe there doesn’t have to be a winner.
The race at the Rio this past week had such a unique and fun vibe to it. It will be fun to see what Tom and SKUSA to later this month.
Now what does Colorado have to do to get a region back together? Im in Utah this week, and I know there is considerable interest over here to make a joint state region.

ParticipantFirstly, thank you to all for the overwhelming support! I’m very humbled by all the kind text messages, posts, etc from everyone who was following myself and all the Colorado karters at home! I couldn’t be more proud to represent our region.
For anyone who was thinking of coming out to race or spectate all I can say is that the week, the competition, the venue, etc is absolutely second to none. Although it’s a been a very long time since I’ve been at a national level kart race, I’ve done some other large scale car races and been to some big venues…. The max speed group put on an amazing event, and it truly creates for life long memories that I’d recommend for anyone in the karting arena to attend if you have the means.
Tony, great meeting you and thanks for all the no-co shout outs on the coverage! Let me know when you’re in town and we’ll definitely get together!
Thank you again for all the support! Can’t wait to see everyone at the track next year!
