InactivePLEASE cut the morning practice for ALL the CSC races!! It would be awesome to get home before dark. A five minute run to bug check a kart is more than enough.
Jamie we travel 4-6hours to race. We have made day trips, on non race weekends, to practice. That is 4 hours of highway, 4 hours on the track and 4 more hours of highway in one day. Making an hour drive shouldn’t be that big of a deal. Get there on Saturday and well even help ya.
Now if I could just find someone to loan me a TAG kart for this race things would be real good!! :woohoo

ParticipantI thought we were talking about the July 22nd race. As I understand it-there will be a B—Load of people. Lots of folks coming from out of state to get ready for the Grands. I’m not sure but I think Jim wants to split Masters because there will potentially be more then a full field.
Remember that this is more then a club race for the Rotax folks! This is qualifying for a National event. The split for this race makes sense. I’m not sure that this idea goes beyond the July 22nd race?

ParticipantHello,
I’m going to post the race day schedule shortly for the CSC as well as the July 22 race.
We will not have a practice for either one.
The 5 min warm up will be by groups.
1) Kid Karts
2) all juniors and briggs.
3) all TaGs.
4) all shifters.
Yes,
there might be 40-50 karts on the track at once in the TaG and shifter class, but this is a “warm-up” session to make sure everything is in working order, not a race.
That is 20 min in the morning, then its on to qualifying by class.
Thanks,

Like Ron Dennis told me over dinner the other night with Freddie and Lewie: warm up sessions are to familiarize yourself with the kart and NOT to tear up equipment that the mechanics then have to repair prior to qualifying. That gives everyone a little bit of an upset stomach, not to mention heartburn. (He also said Freddie’s the driver to beat IHO and that he had a good drive in France)
Good call Jim, I think we might get done early…

ParticipantJim, Is the kid kart timing loop fixed or will they be running the full track again with fewer laps? I personally like the full track for them with fewer laps (Trevor liked it too), less congestion on the track for the kids to deal with.. JMO

InactiveJoey liked it to and I have no problem with the full track. Wood like to see full track for kid karts at all club races. The shorter day in 100 degree weather for 5-7 year old kids would be better. Especially when we wait for all the mains to be over for the trophy presentation.
