Hello all,
Friday is move-in day for round 4 of Racing the Rockies! Please take the time to walk the track.
In fairness to all… here’s the scoop…We have taken the blind corner out of the layout. The track configuration in lot B is different.
Throw that in with the fact that we are running the whole layout backwards, this will be a true season ending decision race for almost all classes!!See you in Downtown Denver!

Thats ok, we should be able to catch the whole race on Altitude later…. Shouldn’t we?
August 1, 2011 at 1:30 am #65237Joe RosseParticipantMaybe of last year’s race, Tony–I didn’t see any cameras there this weekend. No more cash purses, either. Ahh, for the “good old days” of large races that everyone attended!
Don’t get me wrong, this race was very well organized and ran like clockwork. Kudos to the organizing crew, and to the dedicated corner workers, T&S staff, and everyone else who stood around in the heat so we could have a great racing weekend. Best news was a hint from Jim that he might be able to get the track ground down next year–even from a crew chief’s perspective, it was incredibly bumpy. The drivers are probably all too sore/numb to provide their comments yet!

I’m starting to think that somebody has lost the plot.
Mr Confused : 😕August 2, 2011 at 2:01 am #65240Kirk DeasonParticipantAll of the events were on time and tech was efficient. My driver, Eli Zeigler, took pole position on Saturday night in the very competitive S2 class. Finishing fourth in Sunday’s final was a disappointment but another learning opportunity for the team. The trophies were classy and made me want one even more. We are climbing the results each time out and look forward to a more combined colorado karting scene.
Thank you, no more questions. Please see the press officer at the tent exit for materials on how you can become a part of our growing organization.
August 2, 2011 at 4:52 am #65241Joe RosseParticipantMyLaps results are now up. http://www.mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=694798
However, series points don’t seem to be updated yet.
August 2, 2011 at 10:21 pm #65242Jim KeeslingParticipantJoe,
We just cleaned up Pepsi Center and arrived back at The Track.
I sure we will get the total points updated for you as soon as possible. Only so many hours in the day…
Thanks,
JimAugust 6, 2011 at 10:03 pm #65243Jon RomeneskoParticipantJim said in the drivers meeting that he wanted some feedback on the track. The blisters on my hands have subsided 😉 , so here goes. I enjoyed the layout this year, and thought it made for some good racing. The deletion of the DANGER CORNER was a good move (even though it was a very exciting corner to drive…way too dangerous). I thought the re-profiled lot B was a good technical section, and as always, coming to race at the Pepsi Center on the old Denver GP grounds is awesome, but…
The track was so. damn. bumpy. (Much more so than last year, I thought). A little grinding could go a long way to make it a great track!
Was still a fun event (even though i couldn’t keep it off the barriers :bang ), and a HUGE thanks to the staff & corner workers running the event and enduring the heat. The corner workers were great on the track using flags and clearing incidents quickly. Seriously, thanks guys & girls.
Oh, and make sure to do something about the temperature, next time. Read 103*F in my tent on Sunday, yikes!
