SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!! (Monster truck announcer voice)

57 degrees and sunny…time to knock some dust off and see if my arm will stay in one piece.

Anyone else going to be at Centennial? I’ll be out on my dominant easykart. I hope the motori drivers won’t feel too bad when I pass them on the straight in my obviously higher-power and faster Easykart.

    Who’s up for some tracktime?

Gonna be chilly tomorrow (high of 44) or I’d try for that. What time is the race on Sunday?

Is the Columbian or Peruvian conglomerate of racers going to be there? Eduardo and friends? Or will you guys all be home cheering for JPM in his left-turn big race?

    Prodrive,

Thats the brightest damn driving suit and kart I’ve ever seen. (your avatar)

Blinding or distracting other drivers must be part of your strategy.

    Prodrive,

Sounds like you are an ALMS nut. We attended the majority of the ALMS season a few years ago as Star Mazda piggy backed their schedule. Man, the 12 hours of Sebring brings out the strangest people I have ever seen.

They will sleep in anything. Ryder trucks, card board box’s. And they start camping at least 2 to 3 weeks before the race week ever starts. One guy brings his old 35 foot sail boat out every year and stays in it. I do not think the thing would float but man it could party. Then they are allowed to troll the pits. I have never seen so many strange people in my life. The ALMS has a safety meeting for all team members and reminds us to pull all of our credentials and team garb so we do not invoke a riot as people would take the clothes right off your back.

Alan also did the Petite LeMans at Road Atlanta in P2. What a blast until the engine blew. Anyway, sports car racing is one of my favorites. We flirted with starting a P2 team for a few years but it fizzled. I still have it in the back of my head and am always watching for complete teams being sold. They pop up once in a while. Just a dream righ now though.

Alan and I were also in Italy designing a new chassis and heard an F1 testing. We asked a local how to get there and found a back way to watch Ferrari F1 test for a few hours. That was very cool. We had to stand on the roof of the rental car to see over the hedges. In between two houses that the roof was falling in on them and one lady was sweeping her dirt porch.

Any way, you just triggered some great memories.

Thats awesome Richie. I think ALMS and the Speed World Challenge are some of the most fun races to watch out there. My first event was up at Mosport this past September when I was living near there for the Bridgestone MTP racing program. Rainy and crappy out, but damn, there were some weird ass crazy Canadian rednecks there for sure!
We made a BBQ pit out of an old ELF oil 55 gallon drum….they stole it when we left it there one night!

I would LOVE to check out the Petit Le Mans race…..I’m going to get my condo sold this spring and try to build a WRX up for the Touring Car series…..just need to find the extra dough, but I think it’s the cheapest way to go “Pro” racing out there. What do you think about the TC class?

    🙂

lol@ Rick, yeah, that is the idea…matter of fact, it is a concept still (paintshop 😛 ) of a pic of mine at Bandimere. But it will happen, the Scuderia Prodrive will be bright red. My helmet color are just like that, with a white stripe across the top.
Richie and Chuck…that is most amazing, you are correct, I am a nut about the ALMS. When the time comes I will love to be at an ALMS race (I missed Laguna Seca on 2005, I had it all planned), another one that I need to do is Indianapolis and see F1 in person. See, I moved here to Colorado only a year ago, it went by so quick, that basically was time to adjust and settle roots on this new state. I really like it.

What time is this Centennial action going to happen anyway?, cause I can be at the track in the morning, and stay no later than 1:00pm.

I’ll be there around 9. Watch for the dominant performer…that’ll be me. OK, a more reliable way of finding me will be to look for the red/white/blue Easykart. L[/quote]
