InactiveGracias muchachos del International Brokers Team! ,I could be at the track early Sunday, but not later than 1:00 pm, so if you guys are there, count me in.
Thanx Rich!…nope, that is the #80 Ferrari 550 Maranello driven by David Brabham and Darren Turner in the American Le Mans series,GTS class (2004), now called GT1. The battle between the Ferrari’s and the Corvette’s (behind in pic) lasted for a few seasons and it was incredible. The pic is in honor to Prodrive, which handled the engines for the team, in association with Care Racing Development. 😀

InactiveI just realized I should’ve posted this in general instead of classifieds, my apologies and thanx for the fix 😉
(ALMS)-Only a month before the 12 hours of Sebring in the American Le Mans series, new teams in different classes will ensure more competition, specially in the P2 class…includes teams like Andretti Green Racing, Penske Motorsports, Lowe’s Fernandez Racing and Highcroft Racing. The Aston Martin and Corvette duel will certainly prove to be as good as always (GT1 class).
(F1)-Michael Schumacher answered those who wondered how long he could stay away from Formula One when he appeared at a test session on Wednesday for the first time this year.
A Ferrari spokesman said the retired 38-year-old German was merely following the progress of the team on the final day of pre-season testing in Europe at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya.
Although the most successful driver in the history of Formula One attended the launch of the new Ferrari at the team’s Fiorano track in January, he has not been to a test session since he quit in October.
Ferrari have said seven-times world champion Schumacher, who has access to test data on his home computer, will continue with the team in a role yet to be defined.
Briton David Coulthard was quickest in his Red Bull, putting in 112 laps while watched by the team’s billionaire owner Dietrich Mateschitz.
BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld of Germany was second quickest with Brazilian Felipe Massa third for Ferrari ahead of double world champion Fernando Alonso in a McLaren.
Toro Rosso’s new Ferrari-powered STR2 car also made its track debut, with Italian Vitantonio Liuzzi putting in 43 laps, after a low-key launch on Tuesday.
The next test is in Bahrain on Feb. 22. The season starts in Australia on March 18.
(CC)-Pre season tests for the Champ Car series, 52 day countdown to the start of the 2007 Season at the Vegas Grand Prix Fueled by VisaSince we have the Daytona 500 around the corner, what are your thoughts about Juan Pablo Montoya for the next season?
February 14, 2007 at 9:03 pm #56739Mike Jansen
ParticipantJPM is almost like Gilles in a sense. A true racer. He’ll change the thoughts of people (like Nigel did in his first trip to Indy passing people in the short chutes) when the day is done. He’ll win a race or two this season. Watch. They said the same things when Mario raced at Daytona in the 60’s and if memory serves me right he won (and so did AJ Foyt for that matter)

ParticipantIf anything, id say that JPM is beginning to emulate the great Mario Andretti. Lets count em…
1999 CART Champ & Rookie of the Year
2000 Indy 500 Champ
7 F1 wins (and fought for the title on about 3 occasions)
2007 Daytona 24 hours ChampHis versatility reminds me of Mario. Wont be shocked if he gives LeMans and Sebring a go, either. He’s a hell of a racer, and he’ll blitz the NASCAR crowd just as he blitzed everyone else. Love him or hate him, he’s a great driver, and while i’m kinda sad to see him leave F1, i cant wait to see him show the NASCAR boys how it’s all done (hes already running with the top 10). Mark my words, it will happen, and most likely this year.
Scary thing is, JPM has actually got me paying attention NASCAR. 😯

InactiveI agree…specially with the part that I was most dissapointed to see him leave the F1, but the way he says, he wants to finally settle down with his family, something that I respect. I am starting to watch Nascar as well (for the first time) with a wider perspective. I am anxious to see JPM in action…and as a matter of fact he was leading the pack on today’s practice in Daytona, until a wheel bearing apparently finished his attempts for today. He comfortably positioned himself in the front for a few laps…now that shows he is not wasting time.

ParticipantJPM…………..I don’t think you should start counting your coffee beans yet.
He’ll get some “on the job training” come Sunday. Things are not as easy as they look for JPM, wait till SMOKE gets on his back bumper and loosens him up a bit going into turn 1.
😥Mikey

InactiveFor sure…JPM guy can drive anything, certainly keep up with any rubbing. We’ll see.
