I need some suggestions on mounting my weight. I’d like to put it near the seat, but how do I mount it easily and safely for bumpy Bandi.

    Joey,

Your best bet is to go to a local SCUBA diving shop and pick up some diving weights. Try and get as many 5# as you can, as it will make it easier to place the weight where you need it. Then just bolt them on to the seat. With bandi being super bumpy i would double nut and safety wire them in place. How much weight do you have to add? How tall are you?

    Hope this helps,
    Preston

I have to add 25-30lbs. and about 6ft. tall; why ?

Yeah, I was planning on getting it from a scuba shop.

Drill mores holes in my new ribtect seat huh ? I didn’t want to do that, but if need be I will.

Any other suggestion you might have ?

Sadley yes, you will have to drill more holes in the new seat. 😕 I would place one 5#’er under the front of your seat. Right under your family jewels. I would place another on the side of the seat near the starter box, and the rest on the back of the seat as high as you can. If possible try and keep the weight off of the front of the kart. Also What are you running for seat struts? Do you have access to a set of scales?

    Two struts on each side

I used scales at bandi two weeks ago, but don’t have access to any others.

Ok so place the weight as I said earlier and go from there. If possible get it on the scales tomorrow at Bandi and place the weight with the kart on the scales so that the kart will remain balanced.

Where is a good place to buy weight, does any of the race shops carry them?

    Thanks, John
