BLACK FLAGGED if passed by the leader? Oh no better not put that on here. Not fair they paid there money too. Not getting to race the whole race??? I won’t participate!! ha ha ha

P.S. Noticed they must not make allowances for fat American drivers is that true? Or did those lightweight drivers have to add lead?
October 20, 2006 at 4:32 pm #55198AnonymousInactiveYour right Charles,
Mike Jansen has corrected me several times now. There are very good drivers there based on the fact that Roman and Giorgio ran near the end of the top 3rd to mid pack. Marc and Kyle were running ahead of him at times. Don’t know how much kart time some of the F1 guys get but my guess is some of the karters competing there drove nearly every day. Some of them were so casual they would watch themselves go by on every Sony Vision screen when they would pass it.
Were lucky it didn’t rain, we would have been smoked! Not to mention the $660 in damaged parts would have probably doubled and not having front brakes would have been tough in the wet. I spoke to some of the drivers who told me they run as much wet as they do dry. There was a driver from Cypress and a few others who were hoping for a wet track I’m sure. My Sister and Dad stayed longer than we did and said it was pouring the next morning.
Dodged a bullet there.
I’ll get the video up as soon as I can.

If anyone has any 2006 CSC slides burned onto a disk, please bring them to the awards dinner. We will have everything there to show them.
Rick was spot-on with his description of Romans wall incident. He really smacked it good :rotate:
October 20, 2006 at 4:40 pm #55200Marc ElliottParticipantThe motors actually were very even, it was tuning that made the difference. Once everyone got the jetting right for their own engine, it was very equal racing on the track, without much variance in speeds or gaps in most sectors (after racing began). I would say in some ways it was some of the most equal racing I have seen recently.
Thanks Again Brad, AJ, Rick, Pete, Ron, Sam, and JackOctober 20, 2006 at 4:53 pm #55201AnonymousInactiveOne thing I’ll say and it is against everything I’ve coached Roman on in his driver development. And maybe it has something to do with getting pulled if your lapped. You make one lap (tour) and your off. But the drivers there look behind them all the time and know where everyone is behind them. They also use hand jestures more than any racing I’ve seen. If they screw up they apologize with a wave. Tap on the back of the helmet meant “lets get away from this pack then race” or “lets work together to catch a group” There were also several single finger waves and if you watch the bumping and grinding, you can see it coming.
Some of these drivers are nuts and simply will not lift 1st in a brake zone, causing them to go wide and get passed by multiple karts. It’s a finger fest after that.
At that level seeing them get pulled is o.k. at the club level, my opinion is “let em race”

No Brian,
My “fat american driver” (as you so tactfully stated) (and yes he was the heaviest driver there) ran with the same weight penalty we have faced all along and had a great time doing it without complaining or trying to adapt everyone to meet our benefit. (allowances) Maybe Roman is too big to race karts (you tell him) but he at least found something family oriented / wholesome to do with his time as a youth Brian. It must be difficult to be so perfect in a world full of humans. But your positive comments are allways appreciated. Although the boycott time away as “father of stars racer” was kinda nice. I wonder how you will react if Brandon grows to be a big kid and people make fat comments? Don’t really see you laying back on it!
Lay off the “fat” comments please. This is certainly not the first time. He can bench press his own weight and race 2 classes without wearing down. Name calling is not necessary. No if you want to call him Phat, we could roll with that.
Just seems like an unsportsman like comment.
How can you offer someone Free brakes in one post and name call in the next? What the hells wrong with you?

October 20, 2006 at 6:22 pm #55203hotwheels1517ParticipantRick,
Obviously you can’t see the sarcasm. I don’t know all the drivers that went. So the fat American was a joke. However Americans as a whole are over induldged for the most part. I do not know Roman, so it was not directed at any one person. Being politically correct is not my style life is too short for that crap. I am a nice person thats why I can offer something to a person I don’t know. If someone makes an effort to do something I will help with positive reinforcement.

If someone made fun of your son you’d defend him wouldn’t you?
If you wanna be a turd, go out and lay in the yard please…

October 20, 2006 at 8:17 pm #55205AnonymousInactiveCome on Brian, let one thread go without the negative stuff. We already know what you think about Colorado Karting and we are fine with the boycott. I for one hope it continues.
Now I am ready for more of those pictures and videos. I want to know why AJ always had to clock guys over by some swimming pool. Was that the best vantage point for the track or the pool.
Bill
October 20, 2006 at 8:53 pm #55206Mike JansenParticipantPlease, I’d like to see some photos from AJ’s vantage point of the “pointers” by the swimming pool. And no Speedo’s please.

Anyways, heres a few from his collection. I’ll also throw in a few non-racing pictures (as if there really were such a thing?!?!) for the woman that actually do read these posts too :k LoriOctober 21, 2006 at 8:38 pm #55209Mike JansenParticipantLori,

You sound like the “fat” american dude.
How many days are you at the gym to back that up?Just go away bro……..you sound like every other crazy ass
Football Dad who vicariously lives through their child because he sucked. To attack a dude like Roman who busts his ass and did that well
with a weight penalty (no kidding!) is dispicable. Have your son tack on some extra lead and see how well he does.:bs:
