    George

We do want to make it down as we would like to see how we stack up againest other Rotaxs. Greg and I think it would be fun. However, this weekend is graduation so Greg will be playing in the high school band for that on Saturday and we are going rafting on the Delores river.

For those that don’t know, the Delores maybe the best raft trip in Colorado, it is the most consistant class III and IV white water in the state. The river has not had enough water in it to raft since 2001. Any thing over 2,000 cfs is good and right now its flowing at 3,000+ cfs! Its just too good to pass up. The water may not be this high for another 10 years.

Sorry George, maybe next time. We do want to come down and will before the summer is out.

I have a tree in my front yard that is not dead yet, it still has one branch that has buds on it. How many Rotax entries did you have on the first RMC race, more, less, or the about the same as last year? TAG has changed the picture for Rotax and EasyKart, I do not think they will survive as stand alone classes for much longer at most tracks. The concept was a good one before there were more motor choices and TAG. The reality is that TAG is the fastest growing class in karting and racers go where the participation is strongest. SSC only drives people away from the class when they pick a spec tire no one has heard of which is hard as a brick. It was a $$$ decision for them I am sure. I would rather have my kart handle with good tires than have to race on tires that you have to fight to stay on the track, it takes the fun out of driving. Just because everyone has to run the same thing does not make it any more enjoyable.

“several in the CSC Sr. TaG class that don’t understand the RMC concept”

    To all Rotax Owners;

I am a vested father of a rotax racer here in the Denver Metropolitan area who has taken his son to almost all of the Rotax races at CRE over the past 3 years and have also taken my son to the Grand Nationals twice to Las Vegas and once to Denton, Texas. We personally love racing in the Rotax Max Challenge and feel that we get the best bang for our buck doing so as compared to other alternatives, such as Tag racing. Thats not to say we don’t like Tag in the CSC, because we do. The only thing that concerns me about TAG in the CSC is whether or not some of the engines we are racing against might be massaged a bit. I don’t know if they are or not, but it sure makes me wonder with all I have seen go on in Karting at the local Denver tracks when we raced there. Anyway, I usually sit on the sideline so as not to offend anyone or give someone a chance to take cheap shots at me. The bottom line is I don’t really care what others think of CRE and the Rotax Program, and for that matter I don’t really care what others think of me personally, as long as they are honest and are willing to say it to my face. SO HERE GOES???

George Durdin and the CRE Rotax Program is most definetly the fairest and most consistent program we have ever run in. As we all know George has his faults as we all do, but I’ll tell you this; There is NO ONE WHO LOVES THE SPORT OF KARTING more than George at CRE. I know alot of you may have listened to some disgruntled Dads and Racers that have raced there. Let me warn you, you have only heard one side of the argument and certainly not the whole story. As you may or may not know, there are usually 2 sides to a story and somewhere in between is usually where the truth lies.

COME ON FELLOW ROTAX RACERS AND COME RACE YOUR ROTAXS AT CRE FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR AND WE WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME AS WELL AS COMPETITIVE RACING.

    Sincerely,
Tim J. George and Seth Chapa

To all y’all folks who think the rotax is dead, I think, NOT!!!! We’ve got Ron’s rotax twisting 13, 700 with out really doing anything illegal according to TaG USA. People forget certain engines tend to do better at certain tracks, they also forget your set up has a lot to do with your times also, and last, but not least, lets not forget the driver and what skill level they’re at. We’ve had our worst luck at IMI where we should be strong and have had our best luck at Bandi, where we shouldn’t be as good. After Ron finished second between Kyle Ray and A.J. Whistler, with Kyle in a leopard and A.J. in a beland factory motor Id say the rotax faired pretty well. Also in the TaG masters Jay Jacabelis finished a very strong second only .6 off of Gagne so tune your engines, learn to drive, have some fun, and do the best with what you’ve got and quit whining.
    Mean every word of it,
    Jed
P.S. Doug, Greg would do just fine

Not dead by a longshot? How much less than 8 RMC entries at the last CRE race qualifies for dead?

I don’t think this needs to be a flame war between RMAX and CSC. I run both series and they’re great. The field at the first CRE race was small (at least partly due to weather-related scheduling) but high quality. I had just as much fun there as I did at Bandimere the next day.

There are a lot of good Rotaxians out there and it would be a blast if more of them showed up at CRE (where are you Mike and Jay?).

Brad, George, and all of the other Co. track owners do great things for us karters and I’m just glad to have so many opportunities to have great races.

    Blink,
You need to find some informants that can count, spell and write an intelligent sentence. Rotax Challenge participation numbers are down but so are the TaG, CSC and IMI numbers. The CRE Rotax Challenge has had sixteen total entries in the each of the first two events.
It seems to me that rather than worry about the health of the CRE program you should be looking to the dramatic downturn of your program over the last three seasons…..your numbers indicated that you averaged 118 racers per event in 2002 and as of yesterday you are now averaging less than 65. I’m not satisfied with our participation numbers but I don’t think you have much to brag about given the large population base in your market.
CRE is averaging 5.28 racers per 100,000 population base in a community of 530,000……..IMI’s average,as of yesterdays results is 2.7 racers out of a population base that exceeds 2.4 MILLION ! Neither number is any reason to brag and only points out the unreasonable division and lack of co-operation between the front range track owners and the lack of marketing being done to bring new racers to the sport.
I’m not satisfied with our participation but at least I’m not gloating about our mediocrity………Dennis Dyer, Donna and Amy Lessor, Cris andGunter DeSanti spent Sunday at the AMA races being held at PPIR promoting not just CRE but our sport in the state. We will continue to promote our sport in our market all through the season. I sent potential Denverite racers your way yesterday. Exactly what are you doing to improve karting in your market outside of constantly slamming someone else’s best efforts in another community? Why do you feel that all kart racers on the front range of Colorado are your sole domain?…..and that they should only be racing at IMI.
Rich Vito is a great guy and I appreciate him participating in the Rotax Challenge but it is a long and dangerous drive from Longmont………….and IMI is a long and dangerous drive from Colorado Springs for Southern Colorado racers. So why should Southern Colorado racers be forced to travel north of Denver, twice a month to race just because you feel that you are the only one in the state that can put on an event?
The health and future of our sport will not turn around until you step down off of your horse and start giving back to the karting community, promoting our sport in a positive light and co-operating with other businessmen involved in Colorado karting. Our sport is not healthy right now and is in fact dwindling in numbers. You have a vested interest in co-operation.

George, I was wondering what it would take to get you to blow a gasket, again. I was not commenting on your race day turnout, only the RMC. Are you dissen JED about his spelling and grammer, you should get a part time job grading homework if it matters to you so much. If you took out all of the people that came to your track outside of Colo Springs your numbers would be the same or less than our average.

    Blink,
No one’s blowing a gasket………just giving you numbers that you apparently can’t deal with. The numbers don’t lie….numbers that should embarass you, not give you cause to gloat.
Seems that you can dish it out………but you can’t take it.

I just have never been one to gloat about aways having the most racers of any kart track in colorado, the most rentals, the largest inventory, the best equipped shop, largest show room, the most karts for sale, the best deals, the friendly service, the well run races, the best race crew, the most tech tools, the best trophies, the best banquet, the most track maintance, the most advertising, the largest fuel selection, the most brands of everything. I sell more karts to people who don’t race, are you counting them? So I don’t know what your talking about. I am not embarassed about having the most money either. 😆
