    Transponder Blue Printing

I can replace the batteries in a transponder for $25.00 … The nicads will be replaced with is a Nickle Metal Hydride (NiMh). The NiMh can last up to 68% longer per charge than a NiCad. The material AMB uses to secure the battery / batteries (3) in the transponder was the problem but no more. I have discovered a way to soften the hard insulation material and lift the batteries out. If interested give me a call 719-337-2060
    Thanks Scott Smith

Not to 1 up everyone but here at NREL where I work, we just finished 2 new transponder power supplies.

The first one is a solar powered thin film version, it looks and can be used as a number plate while it powers the transponder. Any excess voltage can be routed to the ignition box to boost spark voltage. The down side is it doesn’t work well in the northwest or at night….not sure why 😕

The second choice is our hydrogen fuel cell model. It cost a little more but it has more features, in addition to the ones mentioned above, the by product of its process provides onboard drinking water and the biggest feature is if a competitor gets to close to your rear bumper you can take it off and chuck it at him blowing him off the track…… 😆

What’s the cost of these you ask? 2.3 million each.

I just wanted you all to know how hard your tax dollars were at work!

I was wondering if I can get my E470 ExpressToll transponder to work at the tracks…. 😯

Pop it off the truck and stick it on the kart.

I’m sure it will work, but you’ll be racking up $3.75 per lap 😯 😯 .

3.75 per lap sounds pretty well calibrated to what e-470 costs.

Has anyone tried them on a track?

The technology is likely the same and if the AMB systems can read them why not! :loony:

Again, I saw some posts talking about tracks needing to replace their units, but are they listing the txprds for sale on the classifieds section?

Hey Brad, If you connect the external battery to the transponder, wouldn’t you have to dissconnect the bad internal batteries so it will not try to charge them and discharge it too soon? I have also seen some charging circuits not work properly if there is no battery or a bad battery to charge and will not charge/power the unit. I am guessing at this but just a few thoughts… These things seem to be overpriced and have the karting market by the …….! 240 bucks for a radio transmitter/reciever?
