InactiveHi Jason,
Here are 2 links which describe the string alignment method for front end adjustments.http://www.hedelands-motorklub.dk/GoKart/Teknik_-_Siden/Front_End_Geometry/front_end_geometry.html
scroll 2/3r rds down
in case of wrap use

“how to” on page 2 and 3However, these methods are time consuming and may not give accurate results if you are not dead on with all the layouts. Next time you are at a track, ask around if someone has alignment discs you could borrow, They will probably even assist you in your alignment. With discs , an aligment can be checked in just a few minutes.

ParticipantJason I like to use two strings and two bars, level the strings from back to front and make them parallel,”measure the same across the back and front”,squareing booth sides, then lock/bunge cord/block, the pitman arm so that the tie rod holes are horizontailly level, then start setting up the front end with the streering wheel in a measured straight forward pitman arm position.
The kart should be on leveled scales/stands/floor so you can measure your caster/chamber/ and other stuff while your at it. Your body in the kart will effect all of them. Have fun.March 29, 2005 at 9:53 pm #50281cgordon
ParticipantJason,
I use these alignment disks – cheap and easy to use.
