Someone needs to post something. Will we get a “new post sense last visit” tab? Will our Coloardo karters learn to go fast in the Desert this weekend?
We need a link on the front page that takes you to only the latest posts since a user’s last visit. That way you don’t have to check each forum.
Avatars are clunky but you can still add them. Upper right corner of the screen, mouse over “Howdy (your name)” and click “Edit My Profile”.
Agree that a view new posts since last visit would be great if possible.

Latest posts I thought was in place by default, seems like that’s not the case. I’ll put that on ToDos as well as avatars. Right now, avatars pull from gravatar which most people are probably not going to bother with.
James is correct.. At the moment we have the latest posts in the widget, we can I believe do latest comments instead…
Doug, you can put in an avatar through Gravatar, it takes a little persistence but it is do-able.
Alright, Recent replies are now alongside recent topics in the footer of the home page. Putting them on the side bar makes the website appear a little strange. So for now this is the best solution.

Still not what I want. The old site would come up with a single button that said posts since your last visit. When you clicked on it, it brought up all the new posts since your last visit. It would also change color so you knew it you read it or not. Made navigating easy. I have a wordpress account and a gravatar. Doesn’t come over.

The ‘img’ button at the top of your reply/text field window allows you to post image URL’s, which is similar to The Karter’s previous use.
I will look further into BBpress forums and so on to see if I can install a file upload plugin, but I’m wary of that…opens the door to shady stuff being uploaded.
I’ll also look to see if there is another version of the “Recent Replies” widget that is more catered to the user experience you had before, although I suspect there may not be. For now, this is the solution I have found, but I will keep looking!
