Has there been a decision made yet regarding TAG weights? Are we running TAGUSA weights + 20 like last year??? And what about the possibility of running a TAG SR light and heavy if there is a large enough turnout, what would we be looking at then? I’m just curious because I want to know what weight I need to be testing at.

    My notes say
    Rotax 385lbs,
    Leopard 390lbs,
    Biland 390lbs,
    Sonik 385lbs,
    BM 385lbs,
    Vortex 400lbs,
    Italstrem 415lbs

I think this is close to last year, if not the same. Isn’t this what was agreed on at the meeting?

yea it was, but tagusa came out the next 2 days with 15lbs extra on the sonik, i think its 385 for sonik, and 370 for the IAME, 375 for the Biland, and i belive its 365 for the Max

Colorado and the CSC heads should be ashamed of themselves if that is the weight that was voted on. Here is a thread header from Brad Linkus on ekartingnews.com “One Set of Tag rules, Tagusa or Skusa, not both!!” I guess that is only for the national tag racers to use, not the local base where Biland is trying to gain a strong foothold? Last year the rule for weight was based on Tag Usa weights + 20 pounds. I hope that the CSC board has the foresight to make the changes accordingly for their series.

I spoke to soon. If the Tag weights are Skusa/Tagusa +20 pounds then there shouldn’t be a problem.

    ok

this is how it will be broken down +20
    rotax 385
    Leopard 390
    Biland 395
    Sonik at 405
    BM at 390
I do not think any Italisistems or Vortexes will be out in any mass quantity this year

    Angie,
This subject kind of got skipped over because SKUSA and TAGUSA had not made their rulebooks available. I have no isssues with the new weights +20 if we have small turnouts, but realisticly speaking I think they will be much larger than that. If we end up with 40 TAGs show up at a race the field will need to be split up, my vote goes for a light class that runs at the actual TAGUSA/SKUSA weights, and a heavy class that runs those weights + 35 or 40lbs. Very similar to rotax masters weights. The rotax system works very well to split the classes so why dont we do something like that. Then we won’t have the issues with light guys lobbying for less weight while the heavy guys lobby for a higher minimum so they can be competitive.

I thought you TAGgers might be interested in this. The IKF added TAG for the 2-cycle sprint grand nationals:

    Motor / Weight
    Rotax Max FR125 — 365lb
    Sonik VX125 — 365
    Sonik LS125 — 365
    Comer — 370
    Parilla Leopard — 370
    BM Jaguar — 370
    Biland — 375
    Vortex Rok — 375
    Italsistem ML 47H — 390

16+, rear brakes only, cik bodywork, 89 octane, and Bridgestone YHC tires.

I know IKF is D.O.A. in Colorado +500 miles in any direction from here, but it’s just for your information in case you want one of them Duffies.

Show up early at the 1st CSC race so we can count noses , (or waist-lines) , I expect a on sight vote to split the class !
